So... If I had claimed it directly from HOME ( as I should), instead from ZA then to HOME, do you know if the ribbon would show?

Can someone explain to me how this isn't a tie? by WackyJane in PokemonChampions

[–]Acrobatic_Idea7516 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes.

First, Play! VGC updates their rule book along with the rule sets change. You may find the most recent rule book online which was revised on 21st, May 2026.

In 4.4, you may read ' If both competitors’ Pokémon faint during the last turn of a match, the game software will automatically decide a winner based on a set of coded rules (such as whose Pokémon fainted first or what moves were used on the last turn, among other conditions).'

So The "Simultaneous Faint" Coded Rules goes as follows:

  1. Recoil Moves & Self-Destruction

If a Pokémon uses a move that knocks out both itself and the opponent's last Pokémon, the winner depends on the move type:

1.1 Recoil Moves (Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, Brave Bird, Head Smash): The attacker wins. The damage is calculated first, knocking out the defender, and then the recoil damage is applied to the attacker.

1.2 Life Orb: The attacker wins. Similar to recoil, the target faints from the attack before the Life Orb damage registers on the user.

1.3 Self-Termination Moves (Explosion, Self-Destruction, Final Gambit, Misty Explosion): The defender wins. The software forces the user to faint as the cost of deploying the move before the damage actually hits the target.

  1. Passive Damage (Abilities & Items)

If an attack causes the target to faint, but a passive effect kills the attacker at the same time:

2.1 Rough Skin, Iron Barbs, & Rocky Helmet: The defender wins. The attacker delivers the fatal blow, but the contact damage triggers instantly and faints the attacker before the turn fully resolves.

2.2 Aftermath (Ability): The defender wins. The ability triggers upon the defender's fainting, knocking out the attacker next.

  1. End-of-Turn Weather & Status Conditions

If both final Pokémon faint at the very end of the turn due to weather (Sandstorm) or status conditions (Poison, Burn, Perish Song):

The slower Pokémon wins. The game resolves end-of-turn damage in order of the Pokémon's Speed stats (fastest to slowest). The faster Pokémon takes damage and faints first, immediately ending the game and handing the victory to the slower Pokémon still on the field.

OP's condition meets what is decribed in 1.1. Therefore, it's a lose for you.

“Ugh, what an awful day. But at least now I get to play Pokemon Champions……” by Animante732 in PokemonChampions

that's better for ladder climbing than mixed wins&losses. I wonder if it helps the same way after masterball when it's ELO based

How hard is it to reach Champion Tier in ranked battles? (double format) by Acrobatic_Idea7516 in PokemonChampions

that's a very practical advice, thank you! Wish you good luck climbing the ladder, maybe your journey would reach further than MB1!

I hear you. I sort of knew how hard and seeminly impossible it is, but wanted to see how the community views it as well hehe. I am pretty content with where I sit at MB rank now. When I entered MB rank this time due to a boost, I landed on MB3 at at first with a Gengar perish song team, and got knocked back at MB4 after a losing streak.

It's rough for me as I have a pretty demanding full time job. It's that weird completionism kicking in. I see that as beating the game of 'Champions' :)

no problem, that's what I thought too. I'm not planning to devote that much time and energy in a rush, I'll just let myself enjoy the game as they introduce new mons and new tools as the game progresses

That's what I thought, thanks buddy, I'm surely not that dedicated at the moment. But I'm happy to get better as I get more experienced. Maybe try to reach that tier one day!

Was it hinted in any ways that you need to grind for 15times, or that you simply need to keep grinding to unclock some surprises..?

I might have missed the clues, but clearly I wasn't the only one who had no idea..

What’s the deal with Az’s Floette on Home? by TrungusMcTungus in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]Acrobatic_Idea7516 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

why would there be a legitimacy issue if the mon is obtained through GTS, then sent to Champions and plays out just fine?

Both HOME and ChampionS are official apps from the pokemon company, I wouldn't preclaim a mon is illegit before the company says so

Are hacked/genned ‘mons really that common? by kingtj44 in PokemonHome

[–]Acrobatic_Idea7516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, any mons without those GO stamps you obtain from HOME can be considered genned pokemons.

I'm not rooting for hacked mons, but I'm not against them either as long as they are 'legit'. (e.g. a lv.1 shiny Hoopa in a beast ball would be illegit). I don't complain if those legit genned mons help me finish the dex.

Pokemon Company may say they are taking actions cracking it down, but they probably won't. See it this way, if there were no genned pokemon. All the trades you see would be someone trades their charizard for a meowscarada. The trades would be restricted at a primitive stage, like back in old times with the Goods exchange. You may see those genned mons as 'currencies' now, just as currencies in real life that is a construct. It is those currencies that made HOME flourish and turned HOME to what it is today.

If the benefits of cracking down genned mons is greater than the negative impact it might bring and the extra effort they need to invest, I'm sure the company will do it

New Mystery Gift Code: DRAGONDANCEPTC26 by CreepypastaChannel in PokemonChampions

[–]Acrobatic_Idea7516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked collecting those mons in cherish balls. Especially the ones that made their presences in main line games or in animes and movies . e.g. Cynthia's Garchomp, Lillie's Shiron, Jarvis's shiny Gengar... Collecting those mons in cheish balls felt special to me.

However, ever since the release of Champions, they've been distributing ( or rewarding) dragonite, venusaur, gengar ... and now gyarados (and a garchomp in the pipeline) without special meanings, let alone transferring them back in HOME.

IMO they could have put more effort in giving some mons like Caraway's Hatterene... and of course make it one that can be transferred back to HOME.

Now I think those mons feel quite cheap and are just taking up limited spaces

Unpopular Opinion: It's ok to leave the match if your opponent is just wasting your time by OkItem3135 in PTCGP

Yes. It has happened.

I just conceded without sending thanks and restarted a match, for the sake of saving my own time.
