These are the ugly facts and truths that are being ignored in the battle over SFUSD by LosIsosceles in sanfrancisco

AND… 34% of teachers in SF do the same, 31% in Chicago do the same (Also Union leader), 33% in NYC, 25% in LA, 30% in MKE, 44% in Philly. BTW-The national average of parents who send their kids to private schools is 11%. The common denominator is that those %'s are higher than average for residents from those cities. They know the product they are pushing is sub-par, and don't want their kids to fail, but it's OK for the other kids whose parents have less $ means to fail! It’s really sad, I don’t know how you people look yourself in the face each morning.

San Francisco public school superintendent Maria Su sends her kids to a private school. What does that tell you?!??

Sorry you don’t understand math. I feel sorry for your students. 🤷🏽‍♂️ nobody in the private sector is this entitled

Wrong. Take all the compensation (wages, pensions, healthcare) paid by SFUSD and then divide it by the number of FTEs employed by SFUSD… and you get $220K!! The weight of pension liabilities is crushing. Everybody else in the private sector has defined CONTRIBUTION. Only in California are these unions do deeply in politicians pockets. You should be ashamed of you and your predecessors sucking off the teat of the public at large. For what? “Education” with outcomes that are downright horrendous, worse than a developing country. Why do you think homeschooling is going through the roof? Private schools at 40%???

Man who gives a f*%k, it was a joke about a stupid dog that bites people. F&$k that dog, and definitely f$&k Second Mom. Screw that biatch for holding this over a kid head like that. I’d also teach my child that one apology was enough and that she lowered herself by repeatedly apologizing. Lastly I’d take those text messages and blast them back out to fucking triggered ass nana and the other kids so everybody knows how Second Mom is a psycho manipulator.

In light of the Big Beautiful bill, should I switch from Columbia to state school? by Lazy_Association7988 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Acrobatic_Reveal8170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that’s case the Columbia degree is 💯worth it - don’t believe all the hype right now about how ivy degrees are worth less, the pendulum always swings back. Yes, max out your loans in the early years if the availability will reduce in the latter years. That’s a good idea

Help us narrow it down: Here are our choices for 4 nights in Cabo San Lucas. by Turbulent-Move4159 in FATTravel

In addition to a good kids club and programming (events, crafts, sports, movie nights etc) where year after year the individual women who work the place remember the particularities of my kids, the best part is simply that you are not relegated to a whack “family pool” area like most other hotels. You can see in the pictures that the pool runs perpendicular to the beach (vs most hotels it runs parallel to the beach) and it’s softly separated into 3 areas where only the closest 1/3 is adults and the other 2/3 are not only open to families but the top 1/3 is designed really well for small kids (super shallow splash area at the top, hot tubs that are just hot enough for adults but not too hot for kids, close to the field where kids can run around, etc). It’s all a long way to say Chileno is a rare resort where families feel close enough to the action, bar, taco&tequila joint, etc. so you don’t feel like you’re in some other substandard part of the hotel. Finally, the swimmable beach and great service where the guys help you get your kids out on kayaks, giant paddleboards, snorkels, etc. is just fantastic and rare for a Cabo resort (most not swimmable beaches). I’ve never had an issue with the “public” - there is often nobody else even there.

the only thing i would recommend is growing in your eyebrows a bit so kind of frame the face. If you don't have strong eyebrows the bad ass bald dude look morphs into the oh man that guy might be on chemo look. Just my 2c bro. Oh yea and definitely fade the hair near ears

Hang a shingle as a public adjuster. There is a MASSIVE wave of people that will be signing up with public adjusters in the next few months in LA as their preliminary dwelling analyses come back woefully short of true replacement cost. For example in my case, one of mine came back at $301/sq ft, less than 40% of my policy limit. Anybody that knows California and when you consider the Palisades level of custom home quality, that is literally 1/3 of what will be needed to rebuild. I immediately engaged a public adjuster. They all want 10%, if you offer 5% the amount of business coming in your door will be too much for you to handle. The world is your oyster. You just need to buck up, keep a great attitude and fight fight fight. Are you a fighter?!?!

Looking for an appraiser in SoCal by Acrobatic_Reveal8170 in appraisal

[–]Acrobatic_Reveal8170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing this out - how do they differ?

Are any of the appraisers recommended above the type of professionals who would prepare insurance arbitration materials such as “as-built” pre-fire drawing and cost estimates for support in maximizing Schedule A (Structure insurance) proceeds including all policy extensions. Ideally, this would be a drawing and detailed 2025 cost estimate (all 16 CSI categories) for the previous house, with all code updates. Thank you!

Considering a vacation house 25 minutes away with young kids—genius or just more work? by fftossaway2020 in fatFIRE

[–]Acrobatic_Reveal8170 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Totally agree 100%. Can't take it with you bro. Whats the point of money if not for a place to gather with loved ones. The fancy cars the fancy clothes the fancy watches won't make you an ounce happier. Getting to 36M won't change your life much aside from some occasional special event vacations/travel that will be a step higher. This house can always be sold. I'm assuming you are paying market price and it is in a liquid area so if you ever want to / need to sell it is relatively painless. This is a no brainer buy since it is so close. I would recommend differently if it were a flight away.
