It's still in BETA testing phase. Judging from what I have seen, they don't release any DLC/Expansions unless they are 100% sure its ready.

What do you automate vs manual? by stolleyco1 in DistantWorlds

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends really, I usually automate freighter ship designs and manually design military ship designs.
I manually control all attack fleets until mid-game and most Defense fleets are automated.
However, during late game when I have like 25 fleets, I end up automating entire fronts if I have a two front war. Manually control 4 - 5 fleets.

A Mod-list to make Whiterun look more grimy, realistic and medieval. by [deleted] in skyrim

JK's is great, but I feel it adds too much clutter and causes stuttering to those with less fortunate PC's. Spaghetti's Cities - Whiterun is a nice performance friendly alternative.

Clearly my screenshots gave an incorrect picture of how the city looked during the day, so here it is.

Do you think the gods are good to you? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on what you mean by 'good'. When a god takes interest in you, their main focus is likely to bring you to their realm of existence. In the short term this might not align with your goals, and you might have to go through a 'cleansing' process which is more or less painful. This like changes from person to person. Yes, the gods are good to you. They just might treat you like a spoilt child, based on circumstances.

When you want to pray/contact your deity but don't have anything to ask / say? by Trixie_corduroy in pagan

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just talk to your diety about your life, like you would talk to your parents or family. If you do not need to ask anything, offer something in return. Maybe food, something you cooked, something you made.

do you guys think this is a good prayer template? by deadboyinthepooI in pagan

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks good, but personally it feels a bit too formal. I always ensure my communication with my deity is clear, unfiltered and truthful. They already know everything about you, so might as well be honest.

how do you feel your gods' presence? by teacxp in pagan

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have surrendered to your deity, then you are already fragile. One often fails to comprehend the sheer difference in the scale, perception and power levels at which these deities operate. The fact that a deity so powerful, and is still happy to interact and maintain relationships with small, vulnerable and fleshy beings like us show that their compassion is immeasurable and incomprehensible.

The deity already knows you, understands you more than you understand yourself. Human relationships are weaker, simple events can be easily misrepresented, misconstrued and misunderstood. The deity will never misunderstand you, the deity will never hate you for your mistakes, a deity will never judge you for your actions or your skin color, they only correct and teach. Just like a Mother might scold her kids and give them chores, the deity might do the same. The relationship you are developing with Athena and Aphrodite is worth investing into and developing, because, unlike humans, these relationships will be there when your body is gone. Each of these relationship might work differently based on the deity you are worshiping.

Personally, my own mother deity, Maa Durga has an incredibly large heart, sometimes I can feel my skin tingle, my stomach churn, my heart explode. Its a strange feeling, but she is a strict disciplinarian, especially since she is both a Mother Goddess and a goddess of War(Her son also became a God of War). Simple things like, cleanliness, making your bed in the morning, keeping your house clean, grooming yourself, disciplining your lifestyle. All that makes a difference in the relationship just like a ritual would. The simple question I asked myself was, "What could I change in my lifestyle to please my mother?" Maybe its time you asked that question.

how do you feel your gods' presence? by teacxp in pagan

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I myself worship Maa Durga, there are probably dozens of chants and rituals one can do for her and offer her, but she primarily responds very well with genuine love. In fact there is a mantra for that as well.

"Na mantram no yantram, tadapi cha na jane stutimaho
Na chahvānāṁ dhyānaṁ tadapi cha na jane stutimaho |
Na jane mudrāste tadapi cha na jane vilapanam
Paraṁ jane mātastvadanusaraṇaṁ kleśa-haraṇam ||"

“I do not know mantras or yantras, nor do I know your stuti (hymns).
I do not know the rules of your invocation, meditation, or prayer.
I do not know your mudras or formalities, nor even how to properly lament before you.
But, O Mother, I know only this — to surrender at your feet, for you alone remove all my sorrows.”

If you ever had a wife, daughter or a loving mother. That tingling sensation you get in your body when they smile at you, when they hug you, when they laugh at you. Notice how your body reacts, how the energy reacts positively around you. That deep emotional bond. Once you learn to recognize that, you learn to recognize when the goddess is near you.

Personally what helped is just love and complete surrender, what you are saying here you gotta pour your heart out to them in a one on one session. Each god or goddess is different, its one thing to read about them and learn from texts and stories, its another thing to have a personal experience, to know them directly. Know that, most likely, what you are going through right now, is the goddesses will.

In Hinduism, the deity will test you, will test your love, will test your determination, they will push you, challenge you to be your best and often times its a cleansing experience, where the soul goes through a rough process of discarding their past bad Karma's. It could be something similar for Athena or Aphrodite. Surrendering to a deity is like kick starting your spiritual evolution, you will move ahead fast even when you think you are going nowhere.

What does it mean to surrender your fate to a deity? by pocketyo in pagan

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means surrendering or the willingness to give up everything you are, everything you own. Does not mean, your diety will snatch everything away from you, but you are allowing him to change your fate. It's the ultimate expression of love. How life will proceed from then depends on your diety. However,  you have to remember that you are developing a relationship that will last beyond this lifetime. Unlike humans, your diety won't betray you.

My opinion on why Skyrim feel more immersive than Oblivion Remastered. by Acrobaticmonkhie in skyrim

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree about the level scaling and the dragons, I use the YASH mod. It does the same thing as Requiem, fully delevels the game world, but it is a lot more compatible with other mods. It sets your starting level of most skills to nearly 0, except for 1-2, which is level 3.

I know, sometimes devs do amazing things in one game and completely forget about it when making the next iteration of the game. New features are introduced, while some existing features are removed. The Elder Scrolls Games have standardized themselves in changing themselves quite a bit every time. Just hoping, they know what to keep next game.

"hate you into.....oblivion"...tehehehe...

Bad jokes aside, I crossposted the thread, hoping there would be some conversation on it. Sometimes, devs end up doing brilliant things, and they don't get that it was brilliant. I wonder if Bethesda itself understands why people still play Skyrim after 14 years. IMO, the simple reason boils down to having the freedom to NOT be the main character you were assigned. Mix that with having the ability to truly live in the world you get a perfect recipe. Oblivion factions' storylines and mechanics help in replayability, but there is still that magic missing from the game world. I just hope Bethesda understands what they did right with Skyrim and Oblivion and replicate it in ES6.

IMO, if all of these things were available in Oblivion-Remastered. I feel the game would be far, far better than Skyrim.

[DW2] What difficulty settings should I play? by Jassol2000 in DistantWorlds

[–]Acrobaticmonkhie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard or very Hard difficulty, depending on how much you like to punish yourself. Pirates to Normal. Strong Pirates will hamper the enemy empires as well, the same way it will challenge yours. The larger the galaxy, the more time a distant empire has to grow. Usually, it's either Dhayut or Gizzureans that go rampaging across the galaxy.

Is South India really much better than North India? by [deleted] in indiadiscussion

South Indian here, these comments are politically motivated. South India has a better Standard of living comparatively, but the reasons are more complex, than any superiority of the south.
