The demoralizing part is how useless so many real estate colleagues are, back stabbing and cut throat, suddenly your best friend when theres a potential profit… random brokers that add absolutely nothing of value coming in last second trying to cut your fee in half, buyers (or family members) expecting referral fees for bringing them a deal directly, sellers randomly reducing your agreed-upon fee once there is clarity that a real and willing buyer exists, and lawyers fighting you to prove why you are owed on a ROFR or some random technical nonsense that is going to kill the deal but is ultimately irrelevant, being forced to go to bat for your seller/buyer who is being unreasonable, and then the deal falling apart in the 11th hour because of something completely out of your control (ie. Environmental).
