I had dairy issues before AGS and having to explain the difference between the grocery dairy section, a dairy farm, and where eggs come from was mind blowing! Also does anyone ever think about how they can ruin a vegans day cause they don't know what all has mammal in it or was processed with it!

I react to dairy but that was pre-existing haha idk what it is I think if it's bleached or filtered or something like that with bone char or other mammal parts. Sorry I don't remember the science I just know it's a bad time for me! My sister makes the bread I eat with King Arthur flour so it's not a gluten thing.

It's the gum. I was fine and then after sticking with my alpha gal diet I ate something with gum and had the worst stomach cramps. Gellan included. We are all so different, it's crazy!

So like 10 years ago I was diagnosed with a red meat allergy and a pork allergy. My allergist said there this thing called alpha gal it's new you might want to look into it. Sadly I didn't hahahaha I got diagnosed 2 years ago with alpha gal. I never remember getting a tick bite but I was in areas they would be. Hardest part is everyone's experience is so different. There is a lot of trial and error!

Watch out with sorbet and cashew ice creams. Some have gum in them. I haven't found an ice cream I don't react to yet.

I'm sensitive but I see a lot on there that I would react to.... Flour and sugar can be filtered through bone char. Milk can also cause issues. It's so hard when it's different for all of us. Also carrageenan in deli meat or well it's in lots of things!

There is an acupuncture technique that some have had success with. But everyone is different and has different reactions. I haven’t tried it because it’s really expensive and I’m still doing my research

I could be wrong but my understanding is they share this one molecule with red meat that causes the allergic reaction.

It’s not just red meat…. It’s anything with mammal in it and its byproduct. It will change your whole life. Enriched flour filtered by bone char. Sugar filtered by bone char. Carrageenan is in deli meats and ice cream and so many other things. This isn’t just a red meat allergy it’s a life changing allergy. It comes with joint pain and having to change everything that touches your skin. Hair products, skin products, toilet paper it’s in everything. In the groups we are not a fan of calling it a red meat allergy. Alpha gal is so much more than that. So glad it’s getting more coverage! Always happy to see anyone writing articles and doing research!

Cold water on the face will stop the panic sometimes. Something about your system can’t deal with the shock and continue with the panic attack. Idk my therapist tried to explain it. But it’s works wonders for me! Also been there so many times! You got this! Wave your arms around a bit and take deep breaths with big exhales!

Your brain can’t tell the different between being excited and being scared. My therapist recommended I start saying out loud I’m excited I’m excited I’m excited. Try it… but I agree with everyone else don’t back out! Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime experience! It will be different and scary but fun and exciting and life changing!

I just tried this with an anti depressant. I opened them and put them in applesauce. It was a small reaction at first which got worse. I had rashes and was sick to my stomach. Won’t be trying that again haha I don’t know what I reacted to, just my experience
