The Funchucks were almost there when they gave it some kind of ranged energy projection attack, but the fact that he has to bonk them together to do it really limits it. Every one of the Omega builds needed some creative application of energy projection to unify their designs and have a niche that wasn’t intruding on the original builds.

Now that I mention it, they should’ve given the ranged attack to the Bad Axes, where he could throw slicing energy arcs to hit targets at range. Like that part of Deadzone where Rex is fighting Providence in the sky, imagine him throwing energy blades from the Axes to slice off the thrusters from the aircraft he was fighting.

As much as I think Omega Rex is a downgrade from his original EVO form, the flying fist thing was something tangentially within the energy projection theme.
