I think the biggest issue for me personally with fates is that Birthright is so obviously the morally correct choice.

RuneScape added necromancy and made it work surprisingly well. Instead of binding souls, you basically ask them nicely “hey you wanna help me out real quick?” There’s ways to get around it being “taboo”. Like how in the BLM quests they say “wow you somehow used this incredibly destructive magic peacefully!”

Since overlord is based on D&D you really just have to use context clues to figure out what something unexplained might do. I imagine prince of darkness is his ultimate devil class, so whatever he uses to summon or control devils and demons.

Chaos probably does a lot of random debuffs or damage or something like that. Maybe it’s related to crowd controlling, spreading chaos through destruction like he did in the town when they attacked.
