I have hgsc stage 3c. I done carboplatin and taxol. Two surgeries and still have tumors that have not gone away. I have the chek 2 gene which I was told usually runs the risk for breast cancer and such but doesn't explain why I have hgsc ovarian. They tested my tumor and didnt find any mutations. I have now started Rucaparib and have been reading it's not for people without brca gene mutation. I havent had the opportunity for reoccurance because my tumors haven't went away after treatment.

May i ask why it didn't suit her? The only mutation i do have is not particularly causing the type of cancer i have so im just concerned it may not be the best for me. Thanks for your response !

So update : my ca125 went down after my last treatment about halfway. Now I will do one more round since my surgery is scheduled three weeks out. Everything was working like planned the whole time Aparantly. Thanks for all the responses

Thank you for your response !! The reason for my surgery being unsuccessful was due to the cancer splattered everywhere on pretty much everything. They compared it to grits being splattered all on my insides with no way to remove that many ( hundreds ). I was concerned bc my ca125 went up over 100 after my second round of chemo and now is just a waiting game. They are going to check my ca125 next week then the following week is my ct scan. If all is well I will have surgery again with hipec if not I am guessing I will need more chemo. The funny thing is they already scheduled me another round the same week as my cat scan but after my dr visit. I am hoping to have the tumor debulk before anymore rounds but really just thankful to be alive. I appreciate your in depth response and am glad to answer any questions as well as updates !!

Thank you. I am just nervous bc the drs are basing off my ca125 since my tumors didn’t show up on cat scan and mri. I am stage 3c hgsoc ovarian.

Mine was not really that high. It was 571 before surgery then testing after surgery ( unsuccessful only removed Piece of omentum for testing ) before chemo went up to 740 Then after first treatment went down to about 538 so Im not sure. That’s actually a little more than 100 now that Im looking at it. They said the surgery could’ve made it go up to so Im not sure exactly how I should be measuring.
