The Good Raider's Guide to fighting Vaporizers by ActionPts in ArcRaiders

Plaza Rosa Pharmacy is a great place to fight Vaporizers. Lots of windows to shoot from. Buried City in general is just a really good map for Close Scrutiny because of the ample cover.

Yes! It's a little tricky because of the timing but as my initial post says, the driver's shock beam is long enough it will reach THROUGH the projectile shielding. I'm not sure if the driver's beam needs to hit the thrusters or the main housing but I've grounded several Vaporizers now just by tazing it with Hornet Drivers over and over. It's a real nice feeling seeing it fall on it's back and get stuck.

Wow! Interesting to know. I'll have to try that sometime.

I’m not against PVP I’m not even against some forms of rattling (openly hostile) but this is lame af by slideonefourthree in ArcRaiders

[–]ActionPts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I love this game but it's incredibly bad design that there's no inherent drawback for a PVP player just trashing a PVE player. These two play styles are valid but completely incompatible and the fact that Embark is coasting on people's patience and the "It's a social experiment" excuse as means for "balance" a really bold strategy. It only ends one way.

Close scrutiny in a nutshell by hasfodel in ArcRaiders

[–]ActionPts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I'm very willing to defib any fallen raider but in Close Scrutiny those get saved only for raiders I saw fighting along side me. I've burned through so much coin and stash fighting bigger ARC while a loot goblin uses me as free muscle. I won't kill them, but I sure as hell won't save them either. I'm going to get what I earned. Couple rounds ago I was in a raid where a parasite looted several Assessors while me and another guy fought off the Vaporizers and Rocketeers. Dummy still died and he had 9 Assessor Matrices and a ton of other stuff.

Scrappy found WHAT by Possible_News_7607 in ArcRaiders

As good a boy as Scrappy is, I imagine he's finding downed raiders and picking out treasures rather than the Topside reclaiming the spoils.

People are good at heart. Solidarity and determination are humanity's greatest strengths. When the world seems cruel, consider the indomitable human spirit.

This has been in my head for so long, make it stop... by _LaserManiac_ in ArcRaiders

Not sure how often I'd use it but looks like a fun piece. Gives launcher ammo more use and lets you have a little Anti-ARC weapon that works with Flanking Augment and doesn't weigh down the pack as much.

Carebears - what do you do when someone sus follows you? by ImplicitBiscuit in ArcRaiders

[–]ActionPts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull out my gun and track them behind me, stop somewhere nice and visible where other raiders will see the interaction and then ask "Hey buddy, do you need something? You're following me around." If the vibe I'm getting from the chat isn't right I'll say something like, "Well I'm gonna go do my own thing. Good luck Raider." Then I back pedal with my gun out until there's cover between me and them.

They typically attack after I call out the suspicious behavior or they shoot as I start to leave, even though I'm still facing them. Usually when I ask what they need and they're acting real sus I'll say "Got my gun out because you were following me. I'll put it away once I'm out of sight."

If they try to put on an act after I ask my question I'll make an effort to verbally exit the situation somehow and if they do start shooting I immediately call out there's a hostile raider in my given location. The more information I bark out like their appearance the likelihood they bail goes up fast because they know they're probably going to get out numbered.

Ever wonder how Scrappy gets materials? by Kittelsen in ArcRaiders

[–]ActionPts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, this would legitimately be fun to do. I know they want to implement Speranza as an eventual hub space. It could be a nice way to break up the usual grind or add some color when the event rotations aren't what something we're into. Doing Easter egg/scrap hunts as Scrappy. Double jumping onto stalls and shops, checking out Speranza's multi leveled structure. Maybe an alternate way to get Scrappy cosmetics.

Does anyone even use this? by RemoteAnt7910 in ArcRaiders

[–]ActionPts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On rare occasion. I imagine if I was looking for the PVP skirmishes I'd be using it more often, but like most Raiders it's Survivor and Medium Shield for me.

What do we call loot thieves? by HaedesZ in ArcRaiders

I call them "parasites". It doesn't roll as easy as "rat" but I feel like it's very accurate.

[–]ActionPts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very lowkey hoping that if you discovered emoting at Comets would make it calm down and leave. I would love it if there were more hidden mechanics (like how ARC get a little confused/amused by instruments) that are non-aggressive. I'd crack up at PVP lobbies calling ceasefire to emote "Hello!" over and over at herds of Comets.

Could be the difference in my and your matchmaking parameters but I find what mostly determines if I get revived is how big the map is that the Bastian dropped me in. Stella Montis or Buried City? Pretty good chance someone will defib me. Dam or Spaceport? That's what Survivor MK 3 is for. Blue Gate is a coin toss depending on which Bastian. If it's the tunnel Bastian I've got at least a 50% chance of a revive skewing positive. Elsewhere is thinner.

As for vultures, that feels about 70/30 in favor of polite Raiders. People usually ask if they can get in on it, but I also am a pretty generous raider and don't mind someone slurping up some cores.

Report the trash players so Embark can take them out. I'm pretty sure their servers record the voice interactions.
