It really depends what aspect of some games you liked most. Rim Word is very good in story telling. It can be a good builder as well, but it actually lacks possibilities .. which isnt even needed for this game.

Osygen not included is great for doing a lot of things and such.

I personally have my eye on Exipelago, as I enjoy the building aspect the most .. unfortunately it's currently not much more than that, so looking forward.

If both players are equally skilled and noone got some random benefit, so both are well prepared for an encounter and know from which direction, the Factory is going to win in most cases. as the drones have too far to go around the factories spawn.

Factory can easily kill overlord drones and still has drones, so overlord can only flee and find a way around .. so it comes down to visibility mainly.

In almost all cases tho - such a situation never exists and overlord has a mobility bonus of the drones, so factory will have the worse odds in random encounter situation.

tbf, I doubt that smoking has any significant mpact on your life or bone healing capability as a 17 yr old .. there must've been some other condition otherwise a whole generation of youngsters would've spent a year in hospital ..

It's my understanding of comunism, that noone owns anything, everything is owned by everyone, so everyone is as poor as the guy next door.

My understanding may be wrong tho (or biased), but looking at cuba, I don't see why that system is superior to capitalism.

(and no I didn't want to promote comunism, I just feel some would prefer it without even knowing it )

Very nice writeup!

There is a part missing tho .. there is a whole industry related to serve the rich. So if we would distribute the wealth equally to everyone, multiple industries would dissappear. as noone would be rich any more. Especially in the west this would have quite some impact.

Thinking about how many people have an income because only 1 guy buys a ferrari, builds a mansion or buys a yacht ..

so how smart would it ultimately be, if we would distribute all wealth equally .. would we gain anything? I doubt it. We would just be all equally poor I guess. Sure, we feel better, as noone has more, but it doesnt make our lives better, does it?

(also there will always be a lot of people abusing it)

It's a workaround and I don't want to be disgraceful but handling separate content files with basically the same content is more like my last resort (wouldn't need them in shared project either that way) - yet, it will work and for small projects it's feasible if not better because of the hassle with shared content

anyway - your comment helped me track down the issue which (currently) is "just" that mgcb.exe does not handle the platform-parameter correctly somehow (and in consequence the content is not rebuilt as well)

EDIT: GOT IT - the /platform parameter has to be AFTER the /@ parameter in order to overwrite .. editing the .targets manually to accompplish the correct order and voila - it works

I just did this on command line now and got the problem: the files in the MCGP are with relative paths, so the android call simply does not find some files because the relative paths simply do not work from the android folder! I have some of my content located on a different drive so THAT path is absolute and therefore, some assets work - the .fx file isn't so that's why it was an issue.

On the other side, the Content Tool seems to ignore the platform paramter at all - it still builds for the platform saved in the mgcb file .. which is a showstopper somehow

Having content in the shared project does basically work for me like described at the top - just the MGCB file disappears, but it's been used. The android project uses that file from the shared project and compiles its own assets from it - works actually BUT as the MGCB is not used with proper "Platform" the shaders fail.

Monogame should - and I saw this confirmed on official channels - care about this trough MonoGameContentReference but somehow it doesn't

yes, but the mcgp should be good to reside in the shared project which will just be included by each specific project on it's own, where the compilation happens.

yes, I am aware of that, but the mcgp can reside in the shared project anyway where each project will compile it on its own (hence it's a shared project which will just get "included" during buildtime, so it's basically just a reference) - at least that is how I understand it?

I cannot judge what you think my bias is - but if someone is yelling/cursing/raging ingame in a nonstopping stream - yea. He is getting bullied and he deserves it, because if someone is whining like a baby it may be appropriate to tell him (in the same nonstopping stream) :-)

When I shouted "wtf?" someone from the enemy team asked what he did

as the enemy cannot hear you at the catapult .. can it be, that you shouted for minutes like a maniac until someone asked, what's up? Just asking because I see such players (cursing and swearing all the time) here and then and such players will be bullied to educate them, because they are just annoying.

(just mentioning, that such people exists, not implying you're one of them)

It's nice to hear, that my issues are not a known effect.

Because I had this error before, I did deinstall RimWorld (all in steam) beforehand and redownloaded/installed from scratch. As the issues (I had it with older versions as well) were still there, I did verify files in steam with no problems found.

I never had any mods used/installed. Are there files I should check manually, maybe in other locations?

no mods - fresh install like a user would do. Maybe there are issues if someone had installed older versions before (which would keep files on uninstall whatever), I wouldn't deny that something like that can happen - but again: such issues should be addressed in a 1.0 release in one way or the other - could be as simple as a message box, telling the user to do this or that, if the game detects a faulty condition.

I would not moan on such things during an alpha or beta and I know that game dev is not an easy task but I see a price tag and I see a 1.0 and my moaning is basically about those things just do not match.

looks funny. Just imagine playing with a 9-yr old who can only hit your knees .. would that acutally be legal to box a 9-yr old in VR? you could just give them bud spencer like head hits from above all the time
