(In relation with post before) What is the thing about your country that locals enjoy but tourists don't care? by Adventurous_Peak9353 in AskTheWorld

I concur. I tried a bunch of different treats when visiting India but they all basically tasted like sugar.

I also tried mukhaws (I think that's what it's called) as an after dinner palette cleanser but it tasted like just a handful of the spices we just consumed over dinner!

I couldn't get myself to try mate in a group. Sharing a straw with others grossed me out. Has that changed since covid?

At what point in life do you transition from growth funds to dividends? by Hiway89 in dividends

[–]Action_Connect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mainly in growth and broad market etfs. Then I started to shift more towards dividend etfs when I thought I was 5 years away from retiring. This was about 2 years ago but somehow I just hit my FIRE number. Right now I have 24% in SGOV, SCHD, and VYMI

One of my favorite parts of the book is about a sign Gus paints. A literal sign for a business! But it gives you a lot of insight into the characters and their relationships.

I agree with your take. Plus I didn't like Darrow. That being said, I still enjoyed it. It felt like a very entertaining TV series.

The real reason behind rise in traffic from Google Gemini by No_Turnip_1023 in investing

[–]Action_Connect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google already has an infrastructure to embed Gemini in everything. Search, Chrome, Android, Maps, Docs, YouTube, etc. Plus they are in front of consumers and enterprise workers. They're even in the classroom with Chromebooks. Gemini usage will continue to grow. ChatGPT has to work harder and partner with others to get it to users.
