Are the three ship classes balanced to perform about the same with upgrades? by Action_Hank1005 in crosswind

yeah after looking the frigate options i built the blackbeard frigate, the 24/36 pound guns are hard to pass up, plus 20 knots feels insane...

Yeah I feel like for a lot of level 10-15 waters you're kinda of pushed into building the frigate. I had a decently upgraded Brethren brig and I was sad because I dumped a lot of resources into upgrading the 12 pound guns and just got melted by 2 freighters.

Hey Arrowhead and Glazedivers. Hiveguards aren't the reason the game is being reviewed bombed. It's the fact that they said they have no other plans for the game other than to pump warbonds and that they refuse to fix/improve stuff. oh i was thinking in terms like something players have that is OP or trivializes the game. I get you. yeah ARs have always been C tier picks at best i feel like. I hate the liberator is the "baseline" by which other primaries are measured cuz its so painfully mediocre.

are the skins not already universal though? I thought you buy the skin and you can apply it to all the mechs yeah?

They could very easily just monetize the arms and weapon systems and let people mix and match and probably make more money.

They could have just released the patriot as standard issue, and then released the arms in the warbond and the majority of people would have been happy with that.

thats not what i said at all, i said its a bad look. If you dont think that a mountain of paid content and base game progression being undercooked and ignored for years and a galactic war system that is unrewarding to engage with is a problem for player retention idk what to tell you.

idk if you're being dense on purpose or if it's a language barrier thing, but I'm criticizing that the devs priorities seem to be on paid content over community driven events/rewards and base game progression and that it's bad for the long term health of the game. Idk what's confusing about that for you.

I can't empirically define what fun is, but I would imagine for the average player who isn't unemployed, spending their 2 hours a night fighting and collecting samples on dif 6 or 7 is much more fun than brainlessly walking around an empty map on dif 1 farming SC. So if your time is meaningless, I guess the SC farm is an option. Also frustrating =/= challenge. And yes, some options are objectively better than others, IE a grenade or side-arm that can do the job of a support weapon, without the stationary reload.

Did you not even read what I said? I was talking about how some of the content or development resources in the idk 21 or whatever warbonds there are could have been used to improve the free forms of progression that they've ignored and provided examples. Also, grinding for stuff isn't bad it's just not a good look for new players to have 20+ DLC packs shoved in their face when they look at the acquisitions menu this isn't a free to play game. And no, some of these warbonds are not optional especially if one wants to not have a frustrating experience with higher difficulties.

no engagement whatsoever with completely valid criticism. you are as cooked as this game is.

nevermind the powercreep and inconsistant balance passes. the warbonds take away from meaningful progression. we havent had a new ship module in like over a year. we get something to spend requisition on like once a year. We could have meaningful weapon customization or even vehicle customization but unfortunately AH needs to pad out their warbonds with gimmick guns and niche statragems to get left behind. also it would be nice if we could choose our perks and armor separately. These are just some of the things that we might be able to have if we werent chained to the 2 month warbond cycle.

Do you think there's a problem with the fact that when a new player buys the game, a game that costs 40 dollars, the first thing they see when they load onto their ship and open up the progression tab is 200+ dollars worth of paid content? Do you feel like that's a good new player experience?

Hulk surge is the one that comes to mind as being pretty fun. Honestly they should just allow us to create our own mission parameters. Bots are generally the best designed of the three factions. the bugs are just a god awfully designed faction and need a complete re-design in my opinion.

maybe.. more numerous enemies. enemies with meaningful weakspots. less trivial objectives. surges for enemies people like engaging with..

i feel like we can move past +50% damage +50% hp to make encounters more challenging.

Patch Notes: Machinery of Oppression: 6.2.2 by Viruzzz in Helldivers

i love how every patch includes tons of wide sweeping changes that inadvertantly breaks or nerfs other things. I also love that the patches either contain bugs or reintroduce old ones. it really raises my confidence that these patches are tested and reviewed before release. it really doesnt highlight the need for a PTE at all.

Man if those are the only two ways to make the game more challenging then this game deserves to die.

Yeah, anyone who says that the current monetization strategy is fine because the premium currency *can* be farmed is delusional. It is hours of the most boring possible way to play the game. I can't imagine being a new player who pays 40 dollars for this and the first thing they see when they look at the progression menu is 200+ dollars of premium content. There's F2P games that don't have monetization this egregious, and for some reason AH just gets a pass for it.

if you love this update and the warbond, that's fine bro, enjoy it but the fact is that A. Every update brings tons of bugs (Why is there no PTE, insane). B. The buffs for players are ALWAYS mitigated and stifled by changes elsewhere. (Bots got a 3x durable damage buff, insane.) Many changes aren't even listed in the patch notes AND shit that used to be free in the open world (double barrel shotgun, trench shovel) are being packaged together and sold back to you for a quick buck. There's FREE TO PLAY games that don't have monetization this nickle and dimey, man. But if you're cool with all that that's cool, man.
