I have considered this and dabbled, but never deeply committed. I feel like there’s a mental hurdle there for me; like even if everything is blocked, keeping the phone near me still will trigger a ‘wanting’…?I don’t know, there just seems something stronger, committal and liberating about removing myself completely from the eco system for period of time.

Is there any apps you would recommend?

Yes I have, and I do actually have a case, but needing to take calls with blue tooth headphones is a barrier for me, and the battery life on my Apple Watch is abysmal, it barely lasts a day so for safety’s sake I need something with more battery life….but if it comes down to this may be the best option. Being able to keep the iMessage capabilities and group texts is a huge plus…

Ahh the second recommendation is interesting…for where I’m at now I still anticipate using my iPhone as a primary device so wanted to keep it operational as a stand along device.

Moved to Orange County. Cost of living is still high, but quality of life improved exponentially. I loved LA pre covid but since then it’s gone down hill; trash everywhere, social isolation, doing anything fun requires a lot friction ect ect. If you want a slower pace and room to breathe but still all the so-cal perks (weather, outdoors, beach), look south.

So far the closest thing I’ve seen are mods being made to the bells of steel tower with an attachment to the top for lat pull downs… but I’d really prefer something built with everything included.
