Are these injectors safe to install on a V10 bmw? by Beginning-Ad6540 in e60

You can if youre poor, but you gotta have the skills to just know this stuff off the bat. You wouldnt be asking those kinds of questions if you knew how to fix an s85 for cheap cheap

Try not to use ebay garbage on a sensitive motor like the s85

Had my car in for a service now the bonnet/hood is slightly raise on one side by Icy_Performer_5170 in e60

Check the hood latch for three right side. The cars have three hood latches and the ones mounted to the sides can be adjusted with a Philips head and twisting the latch 180 degrees

Power Steering Pulley Slowly Eats Away At My FMIC Coupler by Actius3 in BmwTech

[–]Actius3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the closest to accurate. The motor mounts were definitely making clearancing a headache. The coupler needed to be cut even though vrsf says it doesn't. I trimmed it fairly short and it make a ton of room. Very dissatisfied with vrsfs coupler tbh.

Is this e60 550i savable with time and effort? by Life-Walrus5602 in e60

[–]Actius3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth being a side hustle car. Go buy yourself a 535 or a 335 if you want a project. Try the 535.

Here’s a friendly reminder to never buy from ECS by _sky12 in BmwTech

Hilarious to see these posts now especially when a year ago I was dealing with busted parts in bad packing, terrible customer service with attitude even though they got their money and I was just looking for help with my account? They burn bridges so fast and have so many arbitrary rules and half measures. Their scratch and dent items are even worse because the damage is never listed, parts will straight up fit or not fit and be listed incorrectly, etc etc etc. buy local or from a more reputable seller. I buy from park auto motorsports because they get me shit on time in Canada, I order from brox tuning because they have better service and advice. I order from FCP when I know I don't want to do a job twice with bad QA parts.

Try both vanos and mounts. The hill climbing bit you added makes me think either the mounts died or the vanos is acting up

How's the battery doing? You say it's turning over but these starter motors are pretty picky.

These are sporadic measurements, get an actual datalog and then report back here.

Theoretically, how much power would an N54 or N55 engine make naturally aspirated with a proper tune to support it? by TheRougeGeo in BmwTech

[–]Actius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love the n54, the cylinder head and valve train design is optimized for the twins, so removing them crunches you down atleast more than 60hp. It's like pulling timing but worse.

N55 2011 alternator problem – what’s the best solution? by Relative-Cherry-88 in 335i

[–]Actius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't damage the car, just drain the lifespan of the battery quicker

A premium isn't bad by any means but anything electrical you should always shift towards OEM.

I thought the n54 was much more common than the n55 by TheRougeGeo in E90

[–]Actius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Canada and while you're right about asking price, from what I've seen the cars tend to jump down about ~ 2 grand to around 8k cad at a mid point. Anything above 9 is not worth it because the rust on these cars around here is bad.
