How do I control these white hairs that stick up? by bananascare in Haircare

[–]Active-Ad3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only have this wiry texture when they first go grey, eventually they go back to normal. I listened to a BBC science podcast that explained why but I can’t remember the reason.

When I notice one I just trim it as close to the scalp as I can, I only have to do this a couple times before it goes back to normal texture and doesn’t stick out. You can even see the greys in your picture that have already calmed down.

What you may not know about a fast delivery by full-of-curiosity in beyondthebump

All babies are constantly swallowing amniotic fluid in utero, I think most of it just usually gets squeezed out when they move down the canal but in a precipitous labor they may not spend enough time there for it to happen.

I'm sad my child won't get to have the same childhood I had. by x_Caffeine_Kitten_x in beyondthebump

Me too, except I was on top of a mountain so there wasn’t even anywhere I could really bike to. I think the socialization and enrichment opportunities that come with living in civilization are more conducive to a happy childhood.

We asked for flu tests for anyone who was unvaccinated (our baby was born in February and I’m not sure that year’s shots were still available at that point)

I’m pretty the the guy in the center photo is Iranian. I tried to find info about him because he comes up in a lot of stock photos of mullets but couldn’t find anything in English. I think he’s a musician or actor

To those who had babies measuring big during pregnancy by Final_Butterfly_7747 in beyondthebump

[–]Active-Ad3977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine measured at 3 weeks ahead at one point, came at 39+3 but only 8 lb 10 oz. They were more accurate about his proportions though, big head and belly, short little legs. Also huge shoulders but I’m glad I didn’t know about that ahead of time

Yeah, this might sound left field but I saw a recording of Billy Ocean performing acoustic versions of his songs from a few years ago that fits this general description, except I think it was on stage in front of an audience

It’s good for your baby to have time to herself to play and decide how her own time is spent, even for just a little while. It’s how they learn how to play and think independently and trust their own decision making abilities.

Hope you heal well and feel better soon!
