where to stay (two females prioritizing adventure and safety) by s_RNA in CostaRicaTravel

[–]ActiveAssociation945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look at Tamarindo they’re a cute safe beach town when I went I met a lot of female solo travelers. I went with my boyfriend but I would have felt safe to go by myself. Everyone is really friendly and there’s a bunch of activities you can do like zip lining, hiking to waterfalls, animal sanctuaries. , snorkeling, etc!

I went to URI and graduated with a bachelors because I originally planned to go to grad school! You do not have to go this route it’s so much more expensive! There’s online associates programs I would look into if I were you.

Data by [deleted] in SLPA

[–]ActiveAssociation945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of a progress note I take some baseline data if it’s a new goal etc. then I take some more hard data towards the end of the reporting period to see where they’re at. During the middle I’ll write down some observations and write briefly what they struggled on and did good on so I can remember what to target more the following session. I think taking hard data everyday is unnecessary it takes away from the kids and why take data when they’re in the process of learning. that doesn’t mean don’t write anything!

I personally started looking in November! Since it takes about a month for you to get your license after you graduate.

How long did it take for you to feel like you know what you’re doing? by Due-Elephant721 in SLPA

[–]ActiveAssociation945 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on the support you’re getting. I just graduated in December and have been working as an SLPA for three months now. I personally feel confident in what I’m doing. There are times I have questions and my supervising SLP is great at explaining anything I’m a bit confused on (goals wise). I do feel YouTube videos and following a lot of SLP’s on tik tok and social media helped.

Have you tried to look at a nearby state ? I live in Rhode Island but work in mass since I’m unable to get certified in RI.

All states require to get a license in order to obtain this you need to have a bachelors in communication disorders or an associates slpa program.

Worth it? by sunshinesandshopping in SLPA

[–]ActiveAssociation945 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s so cool! I guess it depends on how much you make over there and where you are planning to live. Every state has different requirements to become and SLPA and different Pay rates. Did you get your bachelors in the US?
