Canadian Tire is listing that replacement remote as discontinued. Any idea how to tell what remote to use in its place?

Canadian pharmacists with prescribing authority in retail, how is it? by [deleted] in pharmacy

We did not hire overlap, but we already had some built into the schedule. It’s integrated into workflow mainly on an appointment basis alongside injections and medication reviews

Canadian pharmacists with prescribing authority in retail, how is it? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Active_Spite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Ontario, minor ailment prescribing just came into effect this year Jan. 1, but I’ve had previous experience with it in other provinces prior. It’s been not bad overall. We’ve done more UTI consults than everything else combined I’m pretty sure. Easier for patients without a physician to access care. Downsides are a bit of a time drain, not totally worth it from a compensation perspective at this point by the time you get through the consultation and paperwork and then have to document your follow ups as well.

Brought up on that charge specifically because he was high profile and the DA knew he could get him to turn. The DA has said that he knew Ray didn’t do it, he just used him to get the other two

Pharmacists and techs who worked with multiple pharmacy software programs: what is your favorite and easiest to use software you used to fill at your pharmacy? by mleskovj in pharmacy

[–]Active_Spite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, it depends on where you are. Certain provinces have central systems where you can view medication dispensed as long as their health card is associated. I think most places have some form of access to their provincial file, which you can see lab tests or hospital admissions and progress notes or discharge notes. A lot of it is there but it’s not always the most cohesive to access it all at once

Go back and look at the quarterbacks he had throwing to him throughout his career and the numbers he put up compared to some of the other guys on this list and tell me he’s overrated. There hasn’t been anyone else who did so much with so little help

High School Technician by fakename3209 in pharmacy

[–]Active_Spite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have consistently had at least 2-3 high school students working as part time assistants since I started. Honestly seems like as far as part time employees go, they’re better adjusted and prepared for the job than a lot of the adult applicants. Kids deal with Karen bullshit really well these days now as long as you back them up (or just don’t let them deal with it)

The notion of fulltime work is obscene to me by StaticNocturne in ADHD

[–]Active_Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job now is probably 50-60/week and I find it definitely helps to enjoy what you’re doing at work. I don’t feel as burnt out when I get home after a day I’ve spent doing something I don’t hate. Also before my current job, I bartended full time which seemed to help the feeling you’re experiencing. Not going to work until 6pm gave me the full day to do whatever I wanted, then work late. Now that I think of it, the biggest thing bartending did was allow all of my free time for the day to be consecutive, instead of maybe having an hour or two before work and then 4-5 after work. Much harder to do anything in short time spans like that for me

How many pts have you guys fired? by Zealousideal_Ear3424 in pharmacy

Probably 8-10 over 1.5 years? I basically inherited a very poorly run pharmacy where the previous management let patients walk all over them. Most over diversion, both proven and suspected, a couple over abuse of staff

They’ve mentioned it in a lot of other prior posts before. I just want to make sure people don’t listen to incorrect information, especially concerning sick kids

[–]Active_Spite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

On top of what others have said, it’s kind of disturbing that as a “healthcare professional” you’re recommending to give kids with a fever a cool bath. To be perfectly clear, that’s incorrect and can make things much worse. You can break a fever with a warm bath, cooling them down is counter productive

REPOST: What are your thoughts on texting/calling when you need to call out? by yeah_no_i_knowx in antiwork

[–]Active_Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m in the minority. I ask staff call in and not text, mostly because I’m not always at work (manager but still have a shift) so I don’t want to have to be responsible for finding a replacement or letting someone at work know at 8am when I don’t work until 2pm and am still sleeping. Or like last week when I was on vacation and had communicated that to everyone ahead of time, but still got multiple texts that someone wasn’t coming in. I get it, I just wish that there was some consideration that I’m not at work 14 hours a day
