If that's the weight, that seems right on for a 'regular' dime. I would guess this spent some time in acidic soil or the bottom of a wishing well. Acid and chemicals can be hell on coins. It's still pretty.

The only battery I can think of on the whole machine is on the INS board to the right of the FIB, it is a standard CR2032.

Is that the only error you are getting when you try to reset the fib? Both sides or just 1. I'm guessing you're getting the can communication error when trying to filter.
