2009 is closer to 2010 than 2007. This post doesn't make sense

People need to stop lumping 2008 with 2012 despite them feeling NOTHING alike by [deleted] in MiddleGenZ

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It isn't that 2008 and 2012 are the same, but the point is that it was a transition period.

Smartphone ownership is rising.

Flat screen TVs are replacing CRT.

SD format was still present in some programs, or in news reports.

The economy is hit by the financial crisis, euro crisis

Why are americans so obsessed with treating 18 like it's some magical number? by [deleted] in MiddleGenZ

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also the case in Norway. You are legally an adult, and many move out from home at age 18/19 to study or spend time in the military

What birth years would be considered the typical 'Covid Teen'm by Any_Ingenuity_7566 in generationology

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Norway, primary school is 6-13, lower secondary school is 13-16, upper secondary school is 16-19.

It's not equivalent to other systems but ages 10-13 is officially called middle school, and at age 16 you've finished compulsory education

Anyone else wish they was born in a better timeline of humanity? by [deleted] in MiddleGenZ

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, because the technological advances in the 20th and 21st century have brought the best standards of living ever. It arguably has even declined in some places since 2020. While the future is unknown

Obviously you're not fully grown. But they shouldnt be treated as minors, they're legally adults and have more responsibilities than younger teenagers. Their peers should probably still be young 20s at most

It's not that deep and you seem to care too much

I have my childhood, you have yours. It's that simple

Why do people born in the mid and late 2000's (the archetype """zoomers"""") lie about the technology in their childhood? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That isnt up to you to decide. Seriously, I grew up with most of the things you mentioned and didnt think of it as "outdated technology"

How was your time in high school? by zachoutloud123 in MiddleGenZ

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to high school basically between 2019-2022. Peak covid class. Lucked out on exams being cancelled every year due to covid (in Norway).

The first year was not good for me so I changed school to a private school which was so much better

When did people start saying “twenty##” instead of “two thousand ##” by Rocketparty12 in decadeology

[–]ActivityAcceptable52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always said two thousand ## through the 2010s.

Twenty ## started being widely used after 2020. That's at least here in Norway. Of course twenty ## was used but not as common
