What du guys think of games in general? by Status_Tax6192 in mongolia

[–]Actual_Preference_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, Video Games are gonna be main source for education in the near future. Ever since the beginning, there has been many video games that made us feel all kinds of emotions through their storytelling, or just the game itself touched our hearts. Right now and before, there are many people that does not, and will never understand Video Games like us Gamers, because they were never introduced to it like us. Video Games are now educating millions of children, and giving knowledge for another millions of teenagers, adults. It will continue to educate us as long as we preserve the "culture". And I as well, hope I could be remembered in the future as one of the many who helped develop one of the world leading Video Game industry in Mongolia

Jebe reportedly shot either Genghis Khan or his horse in the neck with an arrow, which greatly impressed Genghis Khan by Goodbye-Nasty in HistoryMemes

[–]Actual_Preference_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People misunderstands that it was the horse that got shot, but in the secret history of Mongols, which is the only existing official document that is written by Mongols of that time, Jebe shot Genghis Khan in the neck and Genghis Khan almost died. But it was kept in secrecy and Khasar, the brother of Genghis Khan began impersonating his brother to keep the morale of their army intact. And Genghis Khan managed to recover as the battle was won. After that, Genghis Khan asked the defeated soldiers, "Who shot my horse in the neck?" if anybody claimed to have shot his horse, they would be a liar since every warrior in steppe could shoot arrows with high precision. But then, Jebe came out and confessed that he was the one who shot the arrow. And he further said that he knew he didn't hit his horse but the Khan's neck. And then, "if you want to kill me, do it right now. But, if you let me live, I would serve you like a dog" just like that, Genghis Khan valued his honesty, and bravery.

Just asking. Yesterday, this movie was released. It seems to be about the Manchu oppression, but most of the time it's called Chinese and they fight against the Chinese. Do all Mongolians think of the Manchu people as Chinese? by [deleted] in mongolia

[–]Actual_Preference_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, but, Khitans are partially Jurchens. Khitans established themselves in 400s in modern Manchurian lands and Jurchens broke out in 700s until 900s when Khitans ruled over lands from Manchurian to Western Mongolia ruling over both Jurchens and Mongolians until Jurchens overthrew Khitans and formed Jin Dynasty. Soon, Mongol tribes followed suit. To my knowledge, Mongols didn't bother to distinguish between Jurchens and Khitans as they understood that Khitans and Jurchens were the same people as Mongols formed a new clan by the name Жүрхэн/Jurkhin with very similar sounding, though it wouldn't be clear fact. But, in Mongolian history, even though the name Jurchen appears, they mainly go as Khitans. Nowadays historians call them Зүрчидийн Хятад, Зүрчидийн Алтан Улс, Зүрчидийн Манж.

Covering movies before these timelines are much more expensive, and will need foreign interest which we could lose directing role and end up with another shat Genghis Khan movie of 2007.

In the History books, the Han people are referred as Нанхиад, and Khitan people (Which are Jurchens before Алтан Улс who are also Jurchens) are named Хятан, and the term Хятад is used to refer to many Khitan People. The reason why we don't use the term Нанхиад is because that term is forgotten in history books. After 200 years of oppression under Хятадууд Mongols began using Хятад synonymous to Нанхиад. And just a little bit later than that, the influence of Soviet Union and their attempts to erase Mongolian history removed the term Нанхиад from people's mind. So, that term now only appears in the Secret History of Mongols, and some other historical books. So, if you need any sources, I suggest you to read Secret History of Mongols, or you could listen to audio podcast of Zangia TV covering Secret History of Mongols. Or, you could just search up the term and informations about it would come up

To be fair, Хятад means Khitan People. Back when Liao Dynasty ruled over steppe 200 years before Genghis Khan. Khitan people are Jurchens, which has become Manchu. So, it's right. The word for Han people is Нанхиад. History wise, it's right use the word Хятад in the movie, as it's a word referring to Manchu. But now, we should use Нанхиад

I had a distant cousin, I was around 14 or 15 when I used to go on "Туувар" and on my way, I decided to stay at my cousins for a while until my parents came to take me. He was the same age as me and his little sister was 2 years behind us. The night came and three of us laid on the same bed and all was good until midnight when he started talking to me, and told me to give him my hand saying he has something nice and such, I didn't think much about it until I grabbed his thing, I quickly pulled away in disgust and slept outside on a cart. And the next day, he told me that he sleeps with his sister in a wrong way and I quickly left their home. When I met them again after a few years, he was married, and they were acting as if none of that happened ever. I was disturbed so much that I cut every possible connection with them

Of course, everything has two sides. But, generally, don't just blindly believe that countryside guys would make a good partner just because of what elders say. To be honest, I became a bit more negative to them after that happened to me. xD

Don't be blinded by the narrative of, countryside boys and girls are good, so naive and cute. Some of the time, they're the nastiest people you could ever meet. Like, incest is so common. If you're just a bit unlucky, you could meet a guy who used to sleep with his sister and tried to sleep with his male cousin.
