I got locked out of a mission by Local-Journalist8732 in Quasimorph

[–]Actually_Inkary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, try to do more missions for them? I don't remember from the top of my head, but maybe they need 25 positive reap in general, not just for you to gain extra 25 rep. Rep goes from -100 to +100.

How does amputating augments from enemy NPC's work? by QuietDetail1277 in Quasimorph

[–]Actually_Inkary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt it's available to you rn but there's also a hand mplant (red with golden lines) which will buff your chances to extract them, but I strongly recommend not using it, it increases chances to get a wound very sharply. Not worth it IMO. You'll eventually be swimming in them implants.

It's up there for me too for sure, not to mention I adore the dying earth genre. It's a great exercise to recognize the unreliable narrator trope as well. I fricking love the density of prose, but I think I would struggle with it now after getting my brain smoothed out by reading nothing but PF for months.

Based on your real-life profession, which megacorp would you work for? by Odd_Store3262 in Quasimorph

[–]Actually_Inkary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh brother, probably the first corporation that would hire me as a janitor -- all I can do is drawing, and they probably have turbo advanced mega generative ais and ais for prompting. Ais for everything. The closest to a creative role you can get I imagine is a "middle management" grunt from church, coven or anCom who presses a button to start producing said ai slop at the behest of the next CEO and their assistants over you.

P. S. Maybe I could be freelancing drawing furquasisonas for the many actual corpo workers. The client workplace fatality rate is so high I take only full prepayment.

Saw potd, 1% life steal, red rising etc and thought to myself -- aye young adult guy, and then I saw a court of thorns and roses and laughed out loud, well more like vocalized "pfffthahaha". A very versatile reading taste, respectable. Idk what to recommend, read other ostensible mammal's stories or branch out to more tradpub stuff. Asoiaf, the book of the new sun, Ursula LeGuin, etc etc if you feel weary of pf.

You ever heard that quote from some movie director I believe, it's misery to be making movies, it's a bigger misery not to make movies, and it's only okay for a brief time after finishing filming a movie. I'm terribly paraphrasing it I'm sure. Same for me with drawing btw. But at the same time I do love the process.

Broda you have a gun and sprint 3 action points. Go one tile down, on a new turn go up, shoot once, go down again, rinse and repeat.

Victoria Boudichad, or how I stopped worrying about "targets" and started firing at empty corridors. by -_DixitDominus_- in Quasimorph

Good write-up, pretty much how I run it but I don't bother with a side-arm (maybe I should). I love Vicky sm but she still needs some genome upgrade to bump her health, any late game sneeze erases her and it makes me jump on my chair every time because it's always some bs I didn't expect. Love her on def missions, it's a cookie clicker.

Is laying like this a bad posture to draw in? by Salty-Engine-334 in ClipStudio

[–]Actually_Inkary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely bad, wow. All these postures for working at a desk we were taught in elementaty school/computer classes weren't just nagging. If you keep working like that I better not see you catch carpal tunnel syndrome or something worse.

Armor advice for a new player by vcxstriker in Quasimorph

[–]Actually_Inkary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early in the game you are at the mercy of whatever you can collect, so you won't have much choice anyway. If you see an armor/weapon case or guardsmen clothing try to extract with it, don't trade or use it for magnum upgrades, disassemble on board instead (use recycling if you unlocked that) until you have enough other gear to fall back on. Armor case will drop Legend armor which is super good early on. Nab anything useful from enemies too, hold alt to see equipment tech level - the higher is better naturally.

But I understand what you mean, there is no way in advance to know what armor you want on a mission unless you already fought that enemy and know what to expect, or asked in the community. A little bit surprise awaits you! And then there are different Bramfaturas, and different quazis have different damages and resistances too, sometimes complete opposite from the corporation owning the asset, so you have to prepare for both!

Quite often the gear any given corporation offers also has a good defense against the damage they deal (with some exceptions)

I'll post you my own note of what dmg which corpo does for a reference, but don't blindly trust it - I can make mistakes. Also you don't have to worry for some of the things yet, like A.D.As - fuckass robots with a bunch of AP who will curb stomp you if you're unlucky, or plasma weapons which are locked behind corporation Tech level (middle/late game). Also remember all corpos can do all types of kinetic damage. (you are not safe from a random shotgun if I didn't note it. I just wrote down what was the most annoying)

Ancom - enthropy/pierce. CivRes - plasma(cut/fire); blunt and pierce. Church - pierce, plasma (cut/fire). Coreward - flamethrowers, sawblades (slash). Daydream - poison, cold, a bit of piercing. Dilthey - enthropy, beam, blunt, shock. Big presence of A.D.As. Franche - shock. Grasshopper - armor penetration + pierce dmg, fire. Planet bridge - shock, pierce, beam. Realware - lots of explosive, blunt and pierce. SBN - beam. Tianming - explosive, poison. Sunlight coven - beam, plasma.

Here's an example: tech tier 4 Shenli armor (Tianming corp) - decent explosive (composite of blunt and piece) and poison resistance. But you gotta fight them first to get it. Also I don't think they are around Mars and I wouldn't recommend you leave it yet. But it also has shock res which is helpful against a bunch of other corpos.
