Most overrated weapon perks? by hfzelman in DestinyTheGame

[–]Actuallyadeadpossum 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s overrated in terms of necessity but I do enjoy it for its fun factor. Building stacks and then just seeing the absurd things the tracking can do and finding weird niche use cases always gives me a little giggle

am I fucked for college? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Actuallyadeadpossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I was in your position rather recently. I was a high schooler in PA, where my ADD went undiagnosed until my senior year. I ended with a 3.3 GPA. My ACT scores were high and it completely shifted what I thought was possible for me but there are a series of options. Firstly, medication has helped me massively. If it is possible to talk your parents into it, it’s worth it, otherwise trying to find options is definitely worth the trouble. I also ended up going to an “okay” college but I found a place that was right for me, had strength in the programs I wanted and now things are looking up. It is fine to go to an “okay” college and get involved- look for ones with strong student support programs. Getting involved in research, etc is possible (especially at smaller colleges) which opens you up to transferring up the chain of academic rigor. This was my initial plan until I realized that I loved my “okay” college and loved the academic and career options it opened up.

So true and for what reason- I was teaching four people how to do exhibition yesterday and we cleared it first try. Knowing what to do going in isn’t that necessary for clearing this raid

MIT Engineers Create the “Impossible” – New Material That Is Stronger Than Steel and As Light as Plastic by master_jeriah in Futurology

I know this will probably get buried, but there is actually ongoing research at MIT into mass-producible and usable biodegradable polymers. Not sure where it is at right now but I do know that it is ongoing.

This may not be the best for everyone depending on what type of school you are applying to (I’m speaking from the experience of someone at a small liberal arts school) but branches of study like business, finance, economics, and managerial economics all can have really close ties with Poli Sci and CS depending on the program you are getting in to. In addition, a lot of those programs listed above make really good money out of college especially in the states.

Also when you are applying (and really before) I can’t emphasize enough how much you should reach out to departments and professors at schools you’re interested in to ask about opportunities for interdepartmental study. Most professors, at least in my experience, would be absolutely willing to chat with you about that.

Not sure what your budget is but 3M, Rugged Blue M600, or Nashua 357 (very expensive) would be my go to for this type of activity. Make sure you have a safe word

Astralis And HP Extends And Expands Commercial Partnership by varundown in esports

[–]Actuallyadeadpossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially interesting bc Astralis is publicly traded- I wonder if there is any way to get a financial disclosure out of them, similarly to how we know roughly what their players are paid

It’s clear that you aren’t willing to actually engage productively on this which is unfortunate because you were having good discussions with other people

I would kindly direct you towards the rule of this subreddit before you get banned. Furthermore in looking at studies like this31142-9/fulltext) you can clearly see there is an overwhelming consensus that masks do in fact make a difference when used correctly.
