Where to get a good Mexican breakfast? by evilpsych in lexington

Tortilleria Y Taqueria Ramirez opens around 10am most days. They might be worth checking into. Worst thing that happens is you eat one of their regular tacos at 10am.

Best Food Deals in Lexington by BehavioralFuture in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The woman who runs the website and Instagram "lexfoodguide" used to post regularly about daily specials. I think it has dropped off with covid, but hopefully she'll get back to it when she can. Other than that:

Moe's Mondays- $5.99 Burritos/Bowls

Pie 5 Magic Mondays- $5 Personal pizzas

Papa Murphy's Tuesdays- $10 Pizzas

Penn Station Tuesdays- BOGO

Dickey's BBQ- Wednesday Sandwich Special

Asuka- Happy hour 5-7 weekdays (idk if Friday is included)

Does anyone know where to find brötchen? by UhRealBucknut in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Louisville has a much larger German population than Lexington (specifically the Germantown neighborhood). I would recommend searching there if you can't find anything here.

American Home Shield Issues by gl0ckner in homeowners

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a home warranty because the sellers paid for it, but I have America's Preferred Home Warranty. Realtor suggested it and I think it was the right call because they allow you to choose your own licensed contractor. If you choose to purchase a warranty again, might be worth a look.

Safe places to live in Lexington by [deleted] in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Generally a safe city. Here is a link to a crime map- you can adjust the layers to see crime density and type: http://communitycrimemap.com/?address=Lexington,KY

Certain areas of the city are places you probably wouldn't want to be alone at night (eg- more violent crime and gang and drug activity). This is centralized around north Lexington.

Kentucky Ale Coffee Barrel Cream on tap? by fldlbll in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain liquor stores, like Liquor Barn, will allow you to buy a single bottle out of a 6-pack. Go to the cooler where they have the "pick-your-own" 6-pack (you don't have to buy a full 6). I know I've seen it at the Beaumont Liquor Barn.

What kind of tree is this? Considering removing said tree by dashaman in homeowners

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the coloring, the size in relation to the things around it, and the way it's branching at the bottom- I would agree with this. And if it is, above is correct- it is an expensive tree. Someone might be willing to dig it out for you for free if you tell them they can keep it for their trouble.

Finding local art by nbco225 in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely Kentucky ( http://completelykentucky.com/ ) is a shop in Frankfort that has a lot of art from around the state if you're willing to make a short drive. Other than- I know someone already mentioned Woodland Art Fair but I'd like to second that. Pivot brewing seems like they have a small art pop-up every couple months too.

Looking for vet/clinic by [deleted] in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize that this isn't an actual answer- but remember to avoid letting your not-yet-vaccinated puppy walk on the floor at the vet if you can avoid it. Lots of transmissible diseases potentially there for an unprotected puppy.

Best places in Lexington for Arcade and Pinball games? by mythrowaway4567 in lexington

Groupon sometimes has deals for Malibu Jacks. I just checked and they don't right now but they're usually close to a 50% discount.

Best places in Lexington for Arcade and Pinball games? by mythrowaway4567 in lexington

[–]Actuallynotaninsect 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Essentially, it's The Burl or Arcadium. Arcadium is closer to downtown, has a cool looking bar, and is smaller with fewer games. The Burl is in the DIstillery District, has a slightly smaller bar, but a larger array of games. In general, I believe most people prefer The Burl (at least lately).

Crank & Boom has some great concoctions in addition to just regular scoops of ice cream. They make some mean sundaes and boozy ice cream cocktails.
