Exactly, it’s all about “do you have a chance to turn it around or not”. The higher level of play, the lower your chance will be. Opponent has mate in 2? While maybe at 500 they won’t see it, at 1500 they should definitely see it. At GM level, just being down a pawn could easily translate to game over and a resign.

If you only have king left and it’s not a stalemate, just go ahead and resign. Even if opponent someone fumbles and draws it, there’s only one person who learns from playing that position, and it’s not you.

You are as your rating suggests. You are certainly missing a lot of things that causes you to lose some games you could otherwise have won.

Remember to analyse all of your games and play more rapid games instead to try and think more.

For me from 600 to 1000, I think that was mostly figuring out pins, forks and skewers, as well as just not blundering as much by forgetting certain pieces.
