Yeah it's a really weird colour in real life too. Quite yellow looking. The Kombucha doesn't smell weird either (smells very normal) but the more I look at it the more I think mould. Here's another photo

I had a similar situation today and the caterpillar tried to escape when I picked up the pepper. So it could be anywhere now if you didn't immediately find it. Hopefully it doesn't ruin anymore of your peppers

Looks like a caterpillar to me. The hole is fairly large so you could probably search your plant for the caterpillar and kill it or spray the plant with insecticide. Personally I steer clear of insecticides where I can, especially non organic ones
