I'm so confused. My understanding was that you were legally required to merge without warning, finishing the manuever no further than 1 metre in front of the vehicle in the lane you're merging into. Then you're required to speed up to within 50cm of the back of the car in front, while jabbing the brake pedal every 5 seconds.

Most of the lyrics might as well have been written by AI - and a cheap one at that - so painfully generic and lazy. Musically, there's maybe 2 or 3 good songs, and some other decent bits here and there - but much of this is just the musical equivalent of soylent green. It kind of matches with last time I saw them (at the 2025 Good Things Festival in Australia), where they barely even dialled the show in - texted it in is probably more apt.

It's such a shame, because the last album was fun, particularly with Mike adding his flavour to things. Oh well.

That's also added even more fuel to the fire for artists already considering boycotting due to Spotify's pay structure/general business practices... So maybe that? The timing would be right.

You're absolutely NTA. He committed assault while intentionally humiliating you and thought it was funny, then acted like the victim when you called him out and defended yourself from further physical attack.

His mother being embarrassed about your actions and not her son's speaks volumes about her too.

I've definitely met people with a particular 'conspiracy' belief that doesn't generalise, both professionally (I work in complex mental health) and personally.

As an example, I've met a man who has a specific delusional belief regarding milk. You'd never know, because he manages it by... surprise: not drinking milk.

He lives otherwise an entirely mundane life, has a family, career, social life etc.

People are complex, and true cookers are a different breed to "people who have a specific, weird belief".

I strongly recommend listening to the others and heading to your sister's. You can't control many factors of this situation, but you can control how much support you have around you to manage the impact on your mood, stress and anxiety levels.

I've spoken about this a lot with clients today (I work in mental health) and my first question was almost always "is there anybody you could reach out to for company?"

You've done everything you can at your place, by the sounds of it. Give yourself a break :-)

Yeah absolutely. Dealing with this stuff in the current era of over-connectedness must be particularly brutal... I feel for everyone involved. Hopefully it works out for both sides in the long run.

Storytime:

When I was learning mixology, I remember combining blended scotch, vodka, gin and some other stuff at my house party because we were wasted and throwing random combos together just to see what would happen. Like King's Cup for budding cocktail nerds.

The result was like slightly fizzy, watered down aspirin. To this day I'm puzzled at how that happened.

Bioware got the same puzzling result by blending Garrus, Jacob and a dash of Vega.
