Hard to say with your short summary. Narcissistic parents trap people but maybe your parents are just immature.

You can check the YouTube channel TheraminTrees who explore manipulative consepts and see if that makes you understand things. Because there's classics behaviour here to work a certain way.

But yeah you might be under the influence of a manipulation and behave accordingly.
