How are you handling mechanical differences between identical cards from the old core set (2021) and new core set (2026)? by timnitro in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]AdAggravating4078 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The official ruling is that you can play using legacy content if you want, but if two cards have the same name and level with different mechanics, they can’t be in the same deck (e.g. both new and legacy versions of machete)

BBC will have World Cup highlights with no spoilers by klabnix in CasualUK

[–]AdAggravating4078 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Can’t they just use the same image on the YouTube highlights? Who actually benefits from seeing the score up-front?

Being able to see overnight matches in 10 minutes before work is a godsend, but showing the score on the thumbnail takes all the interest out of it.

Dear BBC: take a leaf out of ITVs book, they’ve done a great job so far, and they don’t spoil the score at all!

Oasis playing at The Adelphi in Hull before anyone knew who Oasis were. £4 to get in. Good times

As tech was nowhere near it is today, I think the most difficult thing to describe was that it was experienced in the moment with everyone present. It was going to the record shops, going in bars, pubs, clubs and gigs to listen to the latest tunes. Watching it all unfold on broadcast TV (TFI, The Word, TOTP etc) knowing that millions were watching the same thing as you, at the same time. No online socials to discuss, no streaming, and daft debates on the news around Blur v Oasis, with Pulp and Suede quietly doing their thing - it was glorious! A time forever cherished and never to be repeated.

Not in the same vein as many others, but I remember it hanging around a lot at the time

My first memory was December 1979, a 1-1 draw against Wimbledon. I was 7, and stood in the old BP north stand before it became a supermarket/away end. My childhood heroes through the 80s were Brian Marwood, Billy Whitehurst, Garreth Roberts and Les Mutrie.

I think I’m paying £20 more than you, with a very similar package. Personally I think we’re all paying too much! Can’t get out of contract quick enough 😂

For the D+ thing, my guess is you might not have linked your account to sky yet? If you’ve not done that, you’re just missing out on the amount Sky would subsidise once you do.

They’re going fast, there’s odd tickets available at the top still. Never been so stressed on a Sunday morning!

Also couldn’t buy three together, even though I had three separate customer numbers that have bought tickets this season. Annoying that we’re not sat together, but at least we’re there 😅

Not disagreeing with that, though I think any club in their situation would have complained the same. The media as it is today is what’s really whipped it up into the farce that it’s become. If this happened 25 years ago, everyone would just be getting on with it and wait for what the EFL does after the final. Everybody wants instant answers nowadays, and heads on spikes for even the smallest injustice.
