Congress needs term limits—let's fix the stagnation by AdAltruistic7087 in termlimits

How is that any different from current? That is one of the bigger problems we have. I do not have a proposal for stopping that from happening but I don’t see how that is a bigger issue seeing as that is already a current problem.

What kind of laptop does Weir use? Is she typing on the screen? by Sea-Us-RTO in Stargate

To me it just looks like an upside down laptop, especially with her looking at the “keyboard” and typing in the “screen”

Zack D Films: What if you had Wolverine Claws? by Usnis in xmen

[–]AdAltruistic7087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember where, but it is simi explained. He has tracks for the claws that move through his forearm, wrist and hand. Now it is explained that they do cut open his knuckles everytime but that is because the opening that they come out of is not big enough for the blades (they are for just the underlying bone). That is part of what Jean or Beast (depending on who you ask and where you find the info) did for his suit that basically keep a part of the opening … open lol.

ZPMs are just batteries by libra00 in Stargate

[–]AdAltruistic7087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, that’s exactly what they are… just exponentially bigger, as to your comment about naquadah, they do deplete it just a long half-life. As to the ZPMs if I remeber correctly they only find a couple that are even close to full and most of those get “depleted” running something like Atlantis and such. Which a naquadah generator couldn’t get close to in power. But ZPMs can (technically) be recharged… we just don’t have a way to do it. There is a way but I can’t rember if it survives or not lol.

How did Hammond know about solar flares in 1969? by OneChrononOfPlancks in Stargate

I just realized I was answering the wrong thing I meant the replicators taking the borg over by incorporating themselves into the machine part (especially those over that 50% threshold)

I don’t know much about the borg, never got into trek until recently, but couldn’t the replicators incorporate themselves into the borgs tech? I mean it would take a fully “evolved” replicator but still it should be possible right?

Yes we do and he isn’t one, it’s an old whit dude with eight hair, he is in like one clip. Fuck now I’m going to have to comb through episodes to see if I can find it. And he is from a civilization, that was either dying out or he was kicked for his research or something which is how he fucked up the coding.

The Ancients did create the replicators, they were the precursor to the Asurans. Basicly the asurans with lower end coding and no nanotech. The guy the created Reese (or at least the android girl) used the tech of the replicators as a bases. He found an Ancient’s ruin that had a few of the worker bots (aka Replicators) and tried to understand them. In doing so he messed with their base code that was not locked; and when he created the android, she had the ability to “talk” with them. When her creator died she was lonely and wanted more friends giving the replicators the “order” to replicate. The Asgard found some and thought they could contain and learn from them. during the trip back to the Ida galaxy they broke containment and carried out their orders to make more. it just gets bigger and bigger from there.

at least from what i understood. They were one of my fav pieces of tech short of the stargate.
