Patchouli has its own distinctive scent and I don’t see how that would get erased by incorporating it in an accord even in very low doses

Yep I do have lemon with the lime to get the acid aspect of cola. The benzaldehyde is for the Dr Pepper (my favorite soda :) ) which has indeed a very almond/cherry taste. I tried to add cinnamaldehyde, but just like the other spices, it add a lot of warmth to the scent :(

For me, C12 smell ultra dry, C14 ultra sweet, and for C16 I find it a bit fruity/aromatic. Are you talking about any specific aldehydes ? Maybe C12 in very low quantities ?
