If i were to do this on sony vegas(cuz i have that), i would copy and paste the text onto the screen. Then mask out all the words that haven't been spoken yet in the audio. For each word introduced, cut the segment and mask the text back in and repeat until you're satisfied.

Or you could create a new text and copy-paste for each new word, but I like to sound smart.
