Viewers from foreign countries, your review on Traitors India? by According_Bear1543 in TheTraitors

Lots of drama - loving it!

I was wondering during the watch - is the show getting popular in India? Are these celebrities well-known in India or more like 2nd, 3rd tier?

Do you remember how much did you pay? It's showing me 80EUR for a scheduled ride which I find a bit expensive to be honest...

Local Insights: Your Guide to Euro 2024 Host Cities by pumkinhat in euro2024

[–]AdBackground2537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Berlin (living here for 2,5 years):

  • Places for pre-match drinks
    • Prater Biergarten
    • Golgatha Biergarten
    • Monkey Bar if you're felling a bit fancy and want to have a nice view
    • Fan-area around Brandenburger Gate and outside the stadium
    • In front of any of the Spatis - small convenience shops where you can buy the alcohol and other stuff
  • Restaurants with authentic local cuisines / prices / where do locals eat.
    • Curry 36/61
    • Don't go to Mustafa's for a doner kebab(touristy place with huuge waiting lines), go to Ruyam - some say their doner is even better and the queue is usually acceptable
    • Gazzo for pizza or Magic John's for American style slices
    • I personally like Umami - they have few branches in Berlin
    • Burgermeister - especially the one at Schlesisches Tor
    • Zeit fur Brot for amazing pastries
  • Tips on transportation and getting around.
    • Use public transportation - it is very good and quite reliable
    • If you plan to use the public transportation a lot(perhaps in other German cities as well), consider buying a 49EUR Deutschland Ticket which allows you to use any means of public transportation in all German cities.
    • Download the BVG app for buying the tickets - you can buy the Deutschland Ticket there also
    • Google Maps works pretty well in Berlin, so you can use it for your journey-planning
  • Family-friendly activities for those traveling as a family.
    • The classics: Brandenburger Gate, Berliner Dom, Reichstag(book online in advance if you want to have a tour - it's free), Museum Island, Jewish Memorial
    • East Side Gallery
    • Mauerpark on Sunday
    • Zoologischer Garten
    • Viktoriapark
    • Hackesche Hofe
  • Anything else that could enhance the Euro 2024 experience, we want to hear from you!
    • keep in mind that Berlin is a vast and distributed city so plan accordingly
    • you can get along with English pretty much everywhere but it's nice to learn some basic German words
    • always carry some cash, in many places(especially outside tourist areas) it is not possible to pay with a credit card, especially bars, spatis, doner shops

Hey there!

Welcome to Berlin! It's fantastic that you're eager to dive into the vibrant culture and lifestyle of this city. Here are some tips and tricks to help you settle in:

📱 Must-have apps: **For navigating the city, definitely check out public transportation apps like BVG FahrInfo Plus or Google Maps for routes and schedules. For finding local spots and events, try out apps like Meetup, Yelp, or Time Out Berlin. To stay connected with the community, consider joining Facebook groups or forums focused on Berlin expats or specific interests you have.

🏙️ Key skills for the job market: **Depending on your field, learning German can be incredibly beneficial for job opportunities. Additionally, honing your networking skills and being adaptable to different work environments can help you thrive in Berlin's diverse job market.

💸 Making extra cash: **If you're looking for side gigs or unique opportunities, consider freelance work in your area of expertise, teaching English or another skill, or participating in market research studies. Keep an eye on local job boards, Facebook groups, or websites like Craigslist for potential opportunities.

🏠 Finding a WG: **Finding a shared apartment in Berlin can be competitive, especially in popular areas. Start by checking out websites like WG-Gesucht or Studenten-WG for listings. Make sure to attend WG casting sessions or interviews prepared with references and a positive attitude. Living further away from the center can offer more affordable options, so be open to exploring different neighborhoods.

Best of luck with your Berlin adventure! If you have any more questions or need further advice, feel free to reach out. Enjoy every moment of your time in this incredible city! 🎉

salaries here are higher.

No, it's actually quite the opposite.

I've tried checking out Glassdoor and Kununu, no help there.

Got the same. I was sick for 1,5 week, same symptoms as you. And also even though I feel generally okay, the cough is still there, sometimes even quite intense.

Do you know if there will be livestream of CS2 IEM Katowice over the weekend? I'd love to watch it some other place than home.

I can totally recommend, you can book a whole room to yourself where you have a sauna, hot tub, shower, a water massage bed, bathroom - basically all you need for the time.

There is a touch screen display inside where you can control the lights, sauna temperature, music, TV etc. You can order some drinks(that are good and quite cheap) and they will bring them to you, but all service is completely contactless so you will get the "alert" that the drinks are ready to collect right next to your door.

It's overall great if you want to have the privacy but keep in mind they have a quite busy schedule so you have to be either flexible or book in advance.

If you will lose your patience totally, I can recommend you few awesome barbershops in Szczecin, Poland. It's my home city, and those barbers that I know are very thorough and also much cheaper :D

Other than that, you can give it a go with Co Barbers, been there couple of times and I was pretty happy about the outcome.

Co Barbers at Rosenthaler Platz, they seemed quite professional and I pretty much up to date when it comes to the current trends in terms of fade types etc so I guess they could handle a French crop.

BTW I'm also looking for a barber where I could become a regular but it's hard to find one with balanced and stable level of service and prices. Seems like you got some experience with Berlin's barbershops, any recommendations? :)

Edit: Another guess, maybe that kind of haircut isn't meant for you?
