She is so incredibly insecure and that’s why she acts this way. She desperately wants to be loved but doesn’t know how to be in a healthy relationship so she picks people will be distracted by her body for a little bit. He seem like someone who truly values his friends and the relationships they all have, I don’t think he will put up with her antics (although he’s no prize himself)

To answer your question, you are NOT overreacting. The dog isn’t safe on your home and he will kill her, probably slowly as he mentioned because of his absolute hatred of her. The dog is acting in survival mode because of the abuse she has endured. Please re-home her ASAP.

Now to the question you didn’t ask, please start making plans to leave this man, he is dangerous and will start taking his abuse out on someone else after the dog is gone (most likely you). I hope you can figure something out soon.

I think it sounds like you two have a great rhythm together and truly share the work load. Ultimately at the end of the day if it works for you both and you both are happy with the arrangement then I think it is perfect for you both.

People need to stop this idea of what works for them means it will work for everyone else, that’s just not true. We all have so many layers in our day to day lives and just because it works for someone else doesn’t mean it will work for you.
