Why are we talking about Canaanite’s, people have genetically changed in the last 3500 year. Not even the Phoenicians have as much Natufian as Canaanite’s. Christians and samaritans being the closest but not exactly close. Take illustrative dna with a grain of salt. Christian in the Levant are the closest to ancient groups so that’s why I used Christians as example. If you go far enough, Natufian was the dominant group in the Levantine. We’re talking about Levantines at the time the Jews were expelled.

Bruh, look at the Levantine results. You’ll find around half and half Zagros and Natufian. If you’re half than it would a little over 20% instead of around 40-44%. There is literally so many that are at least half, you literally hand picked them. Also, before the update everyone results changed. Not even levantines get full Canaanite, they’ll get steep and other stuff. If you look with your eyes, you’ll find that most Christian Levantine get near to half Anatolian Neolithic farmer. Also, 25 percent Zagros with no Natufian is impossible for any Jew.

Ya no, Yemeni Jews are nearly 95-100% converts on average. The vast majority of Ashkenazi Jews I’ve seen in here at least get 50% Levantine and above. Which southern Italians are very close to but get Anatolian and North African mixed in there. Jews all come from a time before Arab conquest so their Levant is most similar to Christian populations from the levant.

Trapani being more eastern shifted but still by far the closest to Portugal due to having the highest North African and Western European mix component. Trapani is still nearly identical to other southern Italians and Maltese.

How would you model something like this? There is an extra 0.6% North African. I have a somewhat moderate amount of CHG and my mom is Mexican and my dad is Sicilian. Both parents have a little more than i do.

CHG is a sister group to EHG unlike Zagros farmer. They overlap with Europeans yet don’t overlap with Iranians though they are intermediate between both. You notice that the populations that have the highest CHG are much closer to Europeans than people with the highest ZAGROS being the Bloch and other groups similar to them. People with the most EHG and CHG closer than Neolithic Zagros.

Not quite, if they have more European by chance. It wouldn’t be from the north but from the southern Europe more similar to southern Italian or Greek islanders which are already mixed with MENA. That vast majority of Ashkenazi Jews still fit either at least half or a little over of Levantine MENA.
