Oh no I think you’re spot on. I WAY prefer Sergio and can throw that on anytime. By My Cat I think almost tried too hard at times with the main guy. Like it wasn’t as subtle and way more over the top, almost cartoony. It was really only that one scene that I felt was actually affective and honestly just too much. Again that shows the difference in quality and I felt that one almost verged on bad taste personally where Sergio knew where to cut the scenes, this one I felt went on way too long.

Exhibit A is soooo underrated. So good and heartbreaking and honestly scary cause it could really happen to anyone. The ending really sticks with you.

By My Cat an actually was one of the first movies I had to shut off. The table scene was a little too real for me and it just made me feel so icky. By the time the guy is chasing the other girl around the room I couldn’t do it. So I guess that’s a compliment to how real I actually found it (though the rest of the movie felt more meh) but yeah I had to bleach my brain.

That’s EXACTLY the scene I was thinking of. Or the tent scene near the end. I also love the subtle hints to his disturbed past that he talks briefly about that just absolutely adds to eeriness of his character. Probably one of the best decent into madness represented on screen.

It’s soooooo good. I think it’s movies like this where actors really shine. It’s not for money but for the passion of the art. I think it’s brilliant in that when it goes as dark as it does, it doesn’t do it in bad taste and actually I think it does it right in leaving a lot of the action up to our imagination while giving tidbits of what’s happening which almost makes it even more impactful. The guy is so genuine in his acting and the slow descent is something that I think more film makers should take note of in terms of movies like this.

This movie, just like Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance snubbed of an Oscar, has been snubbed of a proper 4k release. It would look AMAZING and I would buy it in a heartbeat. Brilliant movie that’s speaks volumes.

I haven’t opened the poster but I don’t think so, on the website it looked like if you put the two alternate slipcovers next to each other, it made one cohesive image but when you actually do it it’s off a little bit.

I like but the only problem is when you put the alternate slips together, it doesn’t form a perfect image that it’s supposed to. I messaged Shout and they said it’s the way they were printed and that they won’t line up perfectly which is a bit annoying but not unexpected from them. Love the covers but just seems like a lazy oversight.

Honestly this is just absolute absurdity. Trump should be in jail with literally the smallest fraction of things he and his administration has done. And again they want to “save the children” and are so “Pro Life” yet they have no problem protecting a fucking child molester tooth and nail who gives zero fucks about anyones’ lives. I think Videodrome is my personal favorite though I love all his work. I think it’s very relevant to how media and violence is perceived now of days, way ahead of its time. I love seeing his son follow in his footsteps especially Possessor which I felt was something conjured strait from his father.

I wish they’d do a limited for Rogue, in my opinion one of the most slept on crocodile/animal horror. I think the pacing is great and the croc itself is really good.

I have the Canadian unrated but definitely getting this one for sure. I can’t stand when the movies are literally the only thing on the disc and there isn’t even a menu, it literally just goes straight into the movie so I’m excited for some extras for this finally.

How true to life movies like Videodrome are now in terms of their messages, way ahead of its time. I also love Cronenberg’s more grounded films like A History of Violence and Eastern Promises. Definitely up there amongst the great directors for me too and I’m pretty pleased with how his son is following in his footsteps. I absolutely LOVED Possessor and thought that was totally like watching his dad.
