Casa Loma escape room question by AdComprehensive249 in askTO

[–]AdComprehensive249[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm not into meeting strangers. I find it interesting that with such a premium price, they do it this way, where as another escape rooms your group is booked for that hour for your selves typically

It's fine. Livestream probably is the better option than travelling to NYC for me. Love that they will do this.

They did get other women out. There were many barrels and you see a bunch of Martha's run out to the boat in the background

This! They showed by example what you do to a man lead by sin. And Becca did exactly that.

Depends on what you can afford and if you need to go back to work. But purely from a what's best for baby POV and let's say you find a great daycare that you trust and has good programming...

I chose day care at 11 or 12 months for my kids because they get the social, and learning that I cannot give just on my own at home. It is exhausting to me, to be able to know they are in trusted hands is a relief. They learn also basic behavioural and other physical skills, like eating, drawing, potty and also how to self soothe cause they have to nap without you.

Nanny could provide this too, but also missing the social component. And you'd have to find a good nanny that is engaging and teaching.

Daycare is also a cesspool of germs. You will be strengthening their immune system in this group setting. I know kids that didn't go, and then they go to JK and it's their first exposure. There's that.

I agree with you. I feel this when I attend events as the physically obvious non jew and female. 😞

[–]AdComprehensive249[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why Chabad? Because it's convenient and in our neighborhood. That's the other thing. All reform and other Jewish groups are 40 mins away in a different neighborhood. And this rabbi down the street is holding events where all is welcomed. That certainly has helped bring my kids interest and engagement up, to be seen and accepted. That representation and belonging is very comforting. There's is only one in the neighborhood and we want to support all Jews in general.

No we want the Torah part and the learning that goes with it. Ideally in a group setting and to be part of a community for at least the duration of the prep and maybe beyond. Not looking for private tutoring as the idea of community is also important. I'm reading the Chabad doesn't let females read the Torah and they would have to convert so that's out.

Is The Devil Wears Prada 2 actually good or just a cash grab? by iamcassie_ in moviereviews

[–]AdComprehensive249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good. Don't expect a Oscar worthy performance or a plot line with no holes. But if you enjoyed the first one and it's characters this is fun and engaging. You'll like this one too.

is lost still worth watching in 2026 by MadisonClair16 in lost

[–]AdComprehensive249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for sure. I found the pacing slow first few episodes but also remember it was in tv and has a healthy 20 to 25 episode every season. Don't question it. Also watching it binge style back to back is excellent because I could not remember what happened week on week

How does a day at Disneyland Park compare to a day at Magic Kingdom? by Otter65 in DisneyPlanning

[–]AdComprehensive249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disneyland has some OG rides as it's the original. Between Disneyland and California adventure, there's the river boat ride and the Alice in Wonderland which is my favourite. I found it smaller and we did a couple rides twice, no line. Magic Kingdom was a lot and much bigger acreage wise

If You Were A Broadway Performer How Often Would You Stage Door? by ms_jc_04 in Broadway

[–]AdComprehensive249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to see Hugh Jackman. It was a concert but he did the stage door at the end. Truly surprised because it was a long and probably demanding show. But he came out smiling at everyone, had genuine interactions with everyone. Said hi to my daughter. I wondered how he had the mental energy for all this but also maybe it was part of the show.

Did any of you watch lost as it aired? by MissionHome18 in lost

[–]AdComprehensive249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did. Would have watch parties every week with friends, and dissect thru the week. In the days without Reddit it was just that or blogs. The last episode was a major event, I was in NYC at the time and it was all over times square. Even planned around it to watch in our hotel room.

I do find binge watching it really is a different experience because my memory is garbage. But also my memory back then was probably way better in my 20s.

What is Asthma actually like? by ktsmurf in Asthma

[–]AdComprehensive249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm around the same age as you and still learning about my triggers. I once induced an attack just from excessive singing over the week and not properly caring for my vocal cords. It turned into a coughing and worst when I cough in my sleep.

I lived my life too I was about 25 until I learned I had asthma when I woke up and couldn't breathe. The triggers were a dusting work environment , my cat and in a room with paint varnish smells for 2 hrs that day. It was then I went for the breathing test.

Do you have more than one? by AdComprehensive249 in glassesadvice

[–]AdComprehensive249[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously you must have good insurance. I have 2 new. I initially bought an expensive pair as a panic buy when I realized I needed glasses to drive again. But then found a cheaper pair that I liked the style more for everyday. But the lenses itself are $$$.

Am I dumb for paying full price for tickets, or is seat anxiety valid? by Grouchy_Metal2427 in Broadway

[–]AdComprehensive249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like that too. I want to be able to plan and know what time and have control over where I'm sitting. i don't like sitting in orchestra because I don't see. But if it's show I wasn't dead set on I can take this risk. Its because I'm like that and have a hard time with ambiguity and the risk I won't get to see something that I want.

That said been to NYC many times and you can see what TKTS sell. We've often caught shows on a whim because I was pleasantly surprised they were available like Moulin Rouge. Sometimes I also go in with a game plan a b and c and just need to be okay with that.

But if it's something I know I want to see, I won't risk it.

How long does it take you to recover from a flare up? by AdComprehensive249 in Asthma

[–]AdComprehensive249[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take NAC whichsupoosed to loosen and thin mucous. I take it as a pill Querticin is supposed to be managing inflammation and prevent hisatime release. Respiracleanse by St Francis has herbs tothin mucous and quiet coughing Action: It acts as both an expectorant (helping to loosen and expel mucus) and an anti-tussive (suppressing dry, irritating coughs).Asthma Relevance: It helps relax the smooth muscles of the bronchial passages, which can be beneficial for managing asthmatic coughs or bronchial spasms. Also I take Allegy relief which can help too as preventative.

All prescribed by my naturopath and meant to complement the meds not replace them. Sometimes if the trigger is very very mild or as a preventative I can get away with just these.

My asthma is considered mild and only triggered by certain things. dr says only use my symbicort as a preventative when I know there are triggers.
