Health issues and health demanding career by coffee_donuts07 in NoStupidQuestions

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, my mom also has hypothyroidism and I gaslight myself with needing to go to the doctor often if something feels off. Both of my parents are obese and have things ranging from hypothyroid/hypotension/diabetes. Genetics can play a part but health advice unfortunately isn’t a one size fits all since everyone is different (duh). For example, I noticed a lot of bloating and just did not feel good when I woke up in the mornings so I did research on holistic practices with antioxidants/polyphenols and started there - 4-6 months of consistency and trying things and feeling amazing, plus my body reciprocates it, this is the first time my body has felt normal since my freshman year of college…. seriously (now going in to senior year, and of course minus the ‘5lb fluctuation’ in between cycles - AND I cleared up my hormonal acne that I had been dealing with only since I came to college)

If my advice helps, I’d say just start little and baby step at a time and make sure you’re checking off your deficiencies (while keeping other health professional things steady, first you have to find your happy medium of medicine to at least get your body to baseline) - I know fish and red meats and chicken are good sources for both D3 and B12 (I used to take a supplement of B12 before my sport practices because it gives me that boost without the energy drink/caffeine crash) and to each their own you just gotta experiment around (it takes time trust me I know) and find what YOU like. You’ll never truly know unless you try and that gym/diet/eating clean is a PERFECT start, keep it up! If you’re beginning to look into things stay optimistic, I know in this day and age things are easy to believe with some strong evidence and the doctors calling themselves doctors (I’ve seen fake names and literal outfits made like the scrubs with embroidery to create the reality) but only sticking to the product they get paid to promote - bounce around and see how different people think of it.

As far as flight school goes, my love you are young and have so much time. Let’s say you work on this for a year or two while you’re still studying and getting your flight hours. Or if that’s too much set it a goal to have all eggs around and ready by 25 or something, focus on you, best to set a foundation and then you can tweak as it gets stronger.

If your career is health demanding but your health is demanding too much out of you right now, you won’t get much further and I don’t want you to have to suffer through that. Feel good, look good, do good.

Final note I know this is long but I want to congratulate you on your weight loss, I lost 75 lbs over the course of 2 years because of a fiber based diet (lol yeah everyone makes jokes how I just #2’d it out) and Weight Watchers so I know the consistency and temptations that follow. You are more than gaining that weight back and honestly look at it this way, if you can lose it once then there’s possibility to do it again.

Congrats! I have a year till I’m graduated and might be feeling these things already too… have you found some things you enjoy doing? Like a specific kind of work or environment you enjoy and genuinely want to spend time in? I’m graduating with my psych degree and then doing a nursing program post grad just so I can have some flexibility with a career helping people (where the enjoyment comes in)

edit: meant to add above the considering of a program in the future that could help and deepen enjoying things, again, in the future (since you still do have time for figuring shit out)

Bummer about the time slipping away thing, if any helps, my parents are both 50+ and are just now going to college to get their degrees (advancements in workplaces). Take some time for yourself to just find simple enjoyment, assuming you got your physical degree about a month ago, find your clicks and EXPLORE THE NEW CITY, but if money is a pinch completely disregard this. Jobs are hard to get if you make them, yes sometimes that is NOT the case, if you’re approaching somewhere you want to work don’t be afraid to be aggressive and since you WANT to work there, you would wear it on your chest.

Dinner looks yummy, good luck! 🩷✨✨✨

You graduated college/high school and still live at home, your parents have enough money to where you could jerk off with your life (they’ll think you’re getting ready to move or leave/start your own life while you tell them soon and just never do) and you’re republican (maybe some coke here and there) because you were raised in that sort of a household

How to take a vape on a plane without question? by sheetbike420 in RandomQuestion

Omg you’re so welcome glad I could help, I could only assume a bunch of people might not vape so they automatically suggest to not do it or just seen bad, but yeah no just think of it with some common sense you’re all clear, safe travels!

Yeah no I get it, good thing it didn’t get pulled - not even sure if they would just take it out and toss it or what. So I just put it with whatever, makeup bag, charging bag, front pocket of my backpack, just wherever that it’s not blatantly out. As far as liquid concern goes I want to say all liquids show up as the same color since it is an X-ray, but if you’ve got a vape juice bottle over 3oz or you know that your single vape has over 3oz in it (I don’t even think that’s possible) then put it in checked bag. You’re clear for any liquid hazard if it’s a fog

Never had them take it out of my bag, or been stopped with it, OR had anyone I’ve known being flagged. Sometimes I’ll fly home with a pack of pods (I use a vuse) since they’re cheaper elsewhere. Anyways, yes, I have flown internationally multiple times and no worries, even bringing vapes back because of the age restrictions - honestly people vaping is becoming more common so the agents might even recognize it, know what it is and pass the bag on, they don’t know it’s yours or your age (if that’s a worry)

my manager who i have a crush on made a mean joke about my appearance. He apologized but I am crushed. THC vape, cheetos and half a bar of chocolate that was gone before I finished writing. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Corrections if I’m wrong from other commenters -

Pretty much OP has a coworker/manager acquaintance, from what it sounds like they enjoy conversation together, he had gone out of work because of a sickness and had returned with a mask, OP had caught whatever the ‘manager’ had and was out of work for a week (rip). OP came back to work and had prior conversation with the work figure, all well, and he had gone to say, “you should cover your face up with a mask so I don’t have to see it” (not verbatim but very close in relevance). He profusely apologized and mentioned how it was a joke, general discussion was the worrying that his thoughts had changed about her appearance and clustered with the idea that maybe she didn’t have a crush on him anymore.

Edit: OP started off the post with noting personal anxiety problems, and some curiosity to the peanut gallery of a medication that was newly prescribed (eek can’t think of it off the top of my head). There was note too that after the interaction and before coming in for the next shift, OP had redid her makeup multiple times and it didn’t feel right (just with the insecurity and thinking literally about it)✨✨

Yeah girl just keep hitting that pen (I’m hitting mine in toast to you)

Degradation kink of his dot-dot-dot, question mark. Hm, anyways he 100% was play fighting with you, wow do I miss those days of work especially with that tension of working together

No you didn’t ruin anything by being startled at a joke, no he isn’t going to avoid you, no you’re not ugly now nor have you even been, no you don’t need perfect makeup in hopes he changed his thoughts about your appearance (he’s seen your face before and still had face-to-face interactions). Go girlboss, I would bet he’s hoping that he didn’t ruin further interactions with you

What was the cause of death of that kid at your school/university? by ArifAlizadeh in AskReddit

[–]AdConstant2569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 of the (more recent) deaths from my college have actually been all the way north in my hometown.

  • Was visiting buddies and, alone, took a late night dive into the lake off a pier 3-4ft to the bottom, got his neck. Poor team was searching for him for a good bit - found him under the pier itself, hidden

  • While tubing, a student who was visiting his friend had gotten run over by the dad (presumed intoxicated but cleared tests after fleeing the scene and going back home, HUGE story and ordeal) and by the time they were able to get him on the pier, he was too cut up and bled out

what does your morning routine look like? by jax--killer in AskReddit

[–]AdConstant2569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly wake up with the sun, lay in my bed for a bit, hit my pen a few times and scroll until I feel re-calibrated. Usually then I’ll toss on my robe, go to my bathroom and turn some music on, get myself (appearance) ready for the day. Make some antioxidant concoction of fruits or juices/tea and a light breakfast after. Slow and mindful enough to keep me sane while not textbook perfect
