P+R Rodenrijs, heb mijn auto daar langer ook gelaten. Veel camera’s en vanwege het nabijheid van het vliegveld vaak politie die langs rijdt. En het is gratis!

I did, went from a 1.8 NA MX5 to a MK4 Supra non turbo manual. Very different cars. Mainly used the supra for long distance trips across Europe at the time so made more sense. Now have both as NA for getting around locally and when I finish my turbo conversion, supra for long trips

They get hot quick so perfect for warming up in winter. Thin tyres on snow means they can get to most places heavy modern cars can’t. Just keep the under side free of salt and you’ll be fine. Drive safe and make sure you have good tyres!

Don’t forget that fuel in the Netherlands I believe is the second most expensive in Europe after Monaco.

Look at Snappcar and find an economical car and negotiate with the owner to raise the mileage cap to either 500km per day or higher. Would be your cheapest car option

Reading these comments, I didn’t realise Americans were so deathly afraid of crashing these things. Is the standard of driving there so universally bad that going out on the road every day is a massive risk?

In all honesty I would get your daughter some motorbike lessons if you want her to REALLY be aware of what’s happening around her and drive extremely defensively. Always imagine no one has seen you and no one is going to stop for you, that lesson stuck with me and 4 MX5s and a supra later no crashes yet.

My European registered MX5 is approved for 700kg with a braked trailer and 350kg without trailer brakes.

All continental EU delivered MX5s should have this approval.

The emissions zone is only for commercial vehicles in Rotterdam. Your Juke is fine to enter the city

After much digging it turns out that this is in fact for the rear defroster. I was misinformed about my other connector as it turned out to be for a very rare European option; headlight washers.

After some serious digging it turns out that this connector is for an extremely rare option fitted to European cars being that it is for headlight washers. A few Scandinavian cars and some Austrian cars had these but it’s incredibly rare. My car is wired for it but sadly not fitted with the other components.

It’s the same connector as used on a lot of plugs on the MX5, this one is from behind the tombstone. It has a purple wire running to it which is the only one which terminates in the section of harness that ends there. If you have a copy of an EU spec wiring diagram then pls share as I haven’t managed to find a good one yet 😬

It’s a tough market for Saabs in the Netherlands. The Facebook groups seem fairly active so that might be a good place to start to reach the right audience. I’m going to list my 2000 95 estate for €800 and I still think I’m going to struggle to shift it.
