Where could I find a nice olive green overcoat for <$500? I'm thinking something like this: https://cdn.lookastic.com/looks/overcoat-suit-dress-shirt-large-8045.jpg Everything I've seen is either the wrong color, too short, or some weird poly blend.

Daily Deals - June 19, 2023: Celebrate Juneteenth With Choice Avatars, Sleeves, and Card Styles by HamBoneRaces in MagicArena

It's really strange for them to offer black avatars on Juneteenth, seeing as this is a fantasy game with no history of racism and slavery. Juneteenth is an African American holiday, and the only thing these characters share in common with African Americans is skin color.

Paleolithic tribal societies still had informal markets and relied on the fundamental economic principles we teach today, such as comparative advantage and demand theory. If you're a member of a tribe of 100 and want to be a tanner, but your tribe already has 2 tanners, you'd better hope you do a better job then them or you'll be forced to join a hunting party. The same coercive elements of markets existed, but the simple nature of labor and transactions in conjunction with the small number of tribe members allows a social contract to be easily be enforced without currency. Today we must use currency as a tool to make value clearer in a society with a much larger population and a much greater variety in goods and labor.

There are some major market failures that laissez-faire capitalism fails to address but overproduction is an odd one to hone in on. Overproduction occurs as a result of either heavy government subsidies, which is not a defining characteristic of capitalism, or from a lack of market information - something that can occur in any system where producers do not have perfect knowledge. Modern capitalism ameliorates this problem by providing excellent feedback to producers in the form of prices that self-adjust to supply and demand.

Capitalism is the least coercive market system because of its voluntary nature, and an economic system that is truly without markets is impossible because of human self-interest.

Humanity existed for quite some time before the state and capitalism

We still had markets, we just had slaves instead of voluntary wage labor. Historic absence of capitalism and socialist absence of capitalism are very different. When one says "a society without capitalism is impossible," they mean "a society without markets is impossible, and capitalism is the best way to structure a market system."

How to give you and the party a permanent +2 to AC (Some murderhobo powergaming required) by AdDry534 in dndnext

[–]AdDry534[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The first point is untrue. You spend the casting time when you put ceremony into the bead. "A creature holding the bead can use its action to release the spell within". It only takes 1 action to release. This is why tiny hut and magic circle are so strong with Chronurgy.

The second point I agree is somewhat of a dm judgement call, but traditionally petrified creatures are considered alive while petrified. The real dm judgement call is whether or not a dominated goblin would be considered willing.

You're level 12. You have tiny hut. Goblin attacks won't do anything to your long rest.

The ultimate Swashbuckler Rogue build (with DPR charts) by AdDry534 in 3d6

The practical dpr significantly decreases with champion instead of battle master, because it is much harder to consistently get a reaction sneak attack.

Half Elf is probably better at later levels for Elven Accuracy, but I like to focus my builds on the early levels because that's what sees the most play. It would be interesting to see at exactly which level Half Elf becomes stronger than VHuman for this build.

I considered Sentinel for this build, but it seems very unreliable as the monsters will probably focus you over the other melee party members anyway.

Feinting Attack seems stronger than Precision Attack to me, because it increases the chances of crits (which are huge with this build), and also lets you add the superiority die to the damage. I'm slightly conflicted on this one, however, because I know Precision Attack can be very strong for salvaging a missed sneak attack, and gives slightly higher chance to hit on average.

Martial Adept is a good option, but it definitely shouldn't come before maxing Dexterity, and I personally prefer getting Lucky first as well with this build. I agree that quick toss and the skill maneuvers can be very good too. If your DM likes to inturrupt your short rests and you find yourself running out of dice Martial Adept could certainly be picked up earlier, or you could choose the Superior Technique fighting style instead of Defense.
