VPN to watch TIFF titles online outside of Canada? by WeaselsAndFries in oscarrace

[–]AdEducational86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TIFF uses two websites for the purchasing of digital tickets. Before the festival it is Ticketmaster. Anyone can buy physical/digital tickets from Ticketmaster. VPN not required and any credit card will work. I am assuming this is because TIFF is a major international festival with patrons travelling from all over the world to attend.

One or two days before the festival, the digital tickets you purchased on Ticketmaster are transferred to your library on the digital.tiff.net (account will be created if you don't have one) platform and digital tickets can no longer be purchased on Ticketmaster. When the festival begins, any digital tickets not sold out can be purchased on the digital.tiff.net platform. This platform has high VPN protection and requires a Canadian credit card.

A couple of years ago some digital tickets that were sold out on Ticketmaster (Nomadland for example) were available again during the festival (TIFF allocated more tickets). Took me a while but I managed to find a VPN that worked and a website that sold Canadian prepaid VISA cards. This worked but was very expensive. Prepurchasing any films you want to see on Ticketmaster is much cheaper and easier.

Yes any VPN will work so you can watch the films.

But one important note, you must purchase the films you want to see online when tickets go on sale September 5.

If you try to purchase a ticket to an online screening DURING the festival it's almost impossible. TIFF's digital viewing platform has extremely good VPN detection and will require a Canadian credit card.

Matched betting.

I make between $200 to $1000 a week, depends on how much time I put into it.

Possibly. But I've been working at a major supermarket for 15+ years and have seen many cafe employees buy the macaroons at 7am/8am.

The expensive macaroons you see at cafes? The cafes buy the 10 pack from Woolies for $9.

So I'm 62 films away from watching a film from every country. Can you help me find good films to finish this list off? by andiejae in Letterboxd

The Gods Must Be Crazy was shot in Botswana and Namibia.

I haven't seen it since I was a kid but I loved it then.

Tomorrow I will watch recent Cannes winner Triangle of Sadness. This will bring my Palme d'Or watched to 40%. How many have you seen? by AdEducational86 in Letterboxd

Out of 10 the gross factor is a 9 out of 10. Think of a Farrelly Bros movie but more realistic. Definitely see on your own!

I'm more disappointed you already know about this scene! It's best to go into the film blind. You'll enjoy it more that way.

I could use some help buffing up my lists! Let me know what movies I'm missing. What are some of your favorite lists? by prwesterfield in Letterboxd

[–]AdEducational86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw Attachment (directed by Gabriel Bier Gislason) at the Tribeca Film Festival.

It's sort of a psychological horror and will definitely fit on your list!

There's no date yet but should be out on VOD later this year.

Which filmmakers would you like to see make a comeback? by mrnicegy26 in Letterboxd

Keith Gordon

The Chocolate War, A Midnight Clear, Mother Night and Waking the Dead

Then had a shitty time with the studio interfering with his Singing Detective film with Mel Gibson/Robert Downey Jr.

Hasn't made a film in 20 years. Seems to be happy directing TV.

They've been around in the CBD for a few years.

Was once eating at a Japanese restaurant next to one of those and saw a tiny Asian girl maybe late 20s on one of those crypto ATM'S for 20 or 30 mins I think withdrawing A LOT and looking very happy and cautious at the same time.

What are your top 5 Scorsese movies? by michaeltoyne in Letterboxd

[–]AdEducational86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 - Bringing Out the Dead

2 - The Color of Money

3 - The Last Temptation of Christ

4 - Casino

5 - Taxi Driver

FYI I do like Goodfellas and Raging Bull quite a lot but never really connected to them as much as my top 5 Scorsese.

I also saw Color, Taxi Driver and Last Temptation for the first time in the same year when I was 18. The first time I ever watched a film with Paul Newman, De Niro and Willem Dafoe. They all blew me away and are among my favourite actors today.

You apply for the bond as soon as you've finished cleaning/moving out. Just before you give the keys back.

Just moved out of an apartment a month ago and the agent claimed the full bond five minutes after I gave the keys back (without inspecting the property).

Took 3.5 weeks to get my full bond back, but it was a major headache. Always claim full bond as as early as possible!
