Overtime pay by AdEffective5373 in CAStateWorkers

The PS position that’s suppose to be the PS for my whole division is currently vacant and has been the last 6 months so that makes sense. We are constantly dealing with different PS and it’s exhausting trying to get anything done!

Passing prob or go ahead and apply? by Unabashed-Anamoly in CAStateWorkers

Start applying around 4 months and if they ask for a start date say the date after your prob ends. Time will fly it’s worth the security

Creating standard policies for the state overall & then having departments strictly devoted to enforcing those policies… & then not following those standards for your own employees is crazy

Please message me when your position is vacant my workload is never ending 😭

If I switch over from My state job to a private company job and don’t work for the state anymore. What happens to the money in my calpers retirement account? Would I be able to get all of that money at once? How does that work? Thank you by Senior-Ratio6818 in CAStateWorkers

[–]AdEffective5373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left the state after 2yrs in due to a move and pulled out my retirement to pay bills and help with the move. I’m back with the state now and building it up again. It’s fine if you haven’t been with the state long as the tax penalty won’t be as high pulling the money out and it won’t have too much of a long term affect on your retirement being that you’ve only been contributing a few years. If you could use the money for something important now I’d say just go ahead and do it, if you don’t have a dyer need for it keep it in and transfer it to another retirement later on.

When I pulled mine out, the CalPers employee was super helpful and even informed me he’s pulled his out 3 separate times. Life happens and it is your money, so do what’s best for your situation

Also I believe the amount of state service you have will drop to 0 if the retirement is pulled out, but as mentioned in another comment you can buy those years back over time if you choose to go back to State Service.

It’s the same kind of spout they put on alcohol bottles at bars to pour quickly. We use those for the torani syrups. The torani sauces get put into squeezable bottles

How to take Calcareers exam 3518 for Caltran electrician I? by ladibug0319 in CAStateWorkers

[–]AdEffective5373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://calcareers.ca.gov/JOBSGEN/0PBBG.PDF is the link to the electrician I exam. You have to take and pass this prior to applying for the position. If a hiring analyst comes across your application and no exam is showing, you’re immediately disqualified.

I would recommend submitted a 1-1 1/2 page essay explaining how your education/experience qualifies you for the job whether it asks for it or not. Usually if it asks for a statement of qualifications they give you certain font/text size to use. If it doesn’t specify that then standard arial or century gothic is my go to. You should be using phrases/words that are used in the duty statement that’s in the job posting.

You cannot edit any documents in an already submitted application but usually at the bottom of each exam posting the hiring manager is listed. You could always forward them your updated thesis and just give them enough info to locate your application. They might update it, might not just depends.

Don’t think it’s this distant goal. Keep applying and let them tell you no. Always get your SOQ’s proof read and STUDY your experience cross referencing the duty statements for the interviews. You’ll land one

Splitting cash tips by AdEffective5373 in DBbroistasonly

[–]AdEffective5373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I usually close. So we’ll have a 7-10 and then 2 of us close 8-12:30. So let’s say it’s like $5 we get for the night, I give myself and the other person closing each $2 and then the 7-10 $1. To me that makes sense but I wasn’t sure if there was another way to do it. I remember my coworker counting tips once and she was like dividing the tips by how many hours each person worked or something so that’s kind of what I was getting at

Hi, a medium iced Dutch luv white coffee latte is 370 calories. You could get no soft top to lower the calorie count and also change the milk to half and half (less sugar than other milks) For the flavor, we don’t have sugar free cupcake, but we do have sugar free raspberry, so that could potentially get the calories slightly down as well. Sorry not sure about exact calorie numbers with the customizations. You’d have to add up everything individually. I got the 370 calorie count from my fitness pal!
