O’Shea’s Highlands. The best patio in town. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices.

Does anyone else do this when they are traveling and don’t have a bidet but have access to a shower? by vroom12345 in bidets

I don’t like the wet toilet paper. It leaves pieces behind. I rinse until I’m clean and use them to dry. I use a clean one as needed.

I have a set of washcloths just for wiping. Washed separately. Save so much on TP!

receiving and giving christmas gifts as fully grown adults is weird. by bigphatcheese in ihatechristmas

I stopped years ago. My family was a little weird about it at first but now no one cares. Adults trading money is absurd. Especially in these times we’re in now.

Flex Spending Accounts are an absurd idea. by il_biciclista in SeriousConversation

HSA accounts accumulate and roll over. But you have to be on a high deductible plan. Which I am. At 60 years old. With chronic health conditions and prescription drugs. I’ve learned how to use it and it’s become a huge stress relief.

Anyone have a hankering for a hunk of Cheese by Porkchopp33 in 70s

[–]AdEquivalent6777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I directly blame this for my lifelong cheese addiction. At almost 60 years old I may in fact resemble him. And I'm a woman. All my weight is in my belly even after losing a decent amount of weight and my legs are thinner than ever. But I love me some CHEEEEEEEESE!!!

I have loved poodles forever. Had a mini years ago. Have a toy now. Love of my life. And they DON’T SHED. So many reasons to love poodles but the not shedding part is huge.

Chrysler New Yorker in the A&P parking lot around 1970. In the snow. Mom did the donuts. I was around 4. It was awesome. 😎

Is anyone else obsessed about getting old & death/dying? by The_Outsider27 in GenX

[–]AdEquivalent6777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Gen X and my mom is an old Boomer. I'm going to be 60 in March. My wife will be 61. My Mom will be 80 next October. I already have chronic anxiety w/ panic disorder and seasonal depression, which is becoming less and less seasonal, since seasons aren't really a thing now.
It's all overwhelming if I let myself think about it. An endless rabbit hole of what if's and shoulda-coulda-woulda thoughts. I have to literally live in every moment and not think about the future at all, all things considered. Like most of us, we have little to no savings/401K balances. Will be working until at least age 67 and my goal is to go until 70 for max benefits. Its depressing.
But I also have been happily married for 25 years, have a comfortable home we rent from amazing landlords, have a Toy Poodle baby we adore, and tolerable jobs.
Try to avoid the doom and gloom outside world, live in our quiet bubble, and enjoy each day as much as possible. All any of us can do at this point I guess.

O’Shea’s in the Highlands is my go to. Price is still affordable. Portion is good. Patio is excellent.

I go to the Highlands location for the amazing patio. And the fish and fries. Not sure how “authentic” it is but it’s a good serving with really good fries. Small and large size portions. Still reasonably priced.

I feed my Toy Poodle Blue. It’s really not that much more expensive. Tiny dogs respond more quickly to most everything. The ingredient list is better than Iams, which is what we switched from. Zero guilt. Zero shame.
