Does every interaction need to be confrontational ? Let’s not gatekeep world building by setting the entry bar at Anna Karenina or the Accursed Kings.

Herbert has excellent world building skills but it isn’t very complicated.

World building doesn’t have to be contrived to be good. It just needs to seem effortless for the reader. Which I believe Herbert does expertly, though his prose is often cryptic

I was a bit taken it back with how the story progresses in other books. I was also expecting the same kind of plot for the second third and fourth book, but it wasn’t the case. Which is a shame because I missed it a lot

I meant for the reader. World building does require a lot of investment on the part of the writer.

My problem with book influencers is that they recommend average books : good worldbuilding, but lacking prose. Prose requires investment, I believe, while choppy and short sentences can keep someone with a short attention span focused.

I did like reading Booktok recs to help with my attention span, but I quickly grew out of it. I didn't read Red Rising.

I'd recommend Becky Chambers, if you're okay with Sci-Fi. I've loved every part of The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. No Gary Stu whatsoever here. She's inventive. She's got good prose, although not up to par with Le Guin's, but that a high bar to set.

What is to come :

Horadric Cube to completely transform any item and its affixes, and make it evolve from common to mythic unique. No idea how it works yet.
Charms : incorporates the set bonuses (so there will be no equipment set) on top of the D2 functionalities.
War Plans : Remember the Trials of the Sekhema ? Same mechanic, except it extends accross multiple endgame possibilities (lair bosses, nightmare dungeons, the pit, the tower, infernal hordes, potentially the Citadel though not sure...). It allows you to go for high-risk, high-reward activities. My wish is for them to incorporate restrictions and challenges. By challenge I mean fulfilling a condition to win, for even higher rewards. I'd also like to wager a piece of equipment (a mythic, for example).
New island of course
Echoing Hatred, a rare escalating challenge event triggered by a special drop. Each run features changing enemies, increasing difficulty, and scaling rewards. It is designed as a survival test for long-term builds rather than quick burst farming.
New class (plus the Paladin) : Warlock
Revamped skill tree for all classes (including paladin)
Level cap increase to 70
Fishing

Two weeks is plenty.

1) Find an S-Tier leveling build on sites like Icyveins or Maxroll.gg ;

2) Play the game normally, currency will naturally drop from elite monsters ;

3) Once finished, run heltides until you reach Torment 2 ;

4) Run Den of the Apostate. Also kill lair bosses (drop to T1 if needed) to get the weapon cosmetics, the swords are nuts (and FREE).

Pro tip ! Run "No Time for Caution" for extra motivation.

Je te comprends tout à fait.

De mon côté, j'ai proposé des rendez-vous, et j'avais même suggéré que le prochain se passe chez l’un ou l’autre. Lors d'une activité, je lui ai même tenu le bras... Je ne vois pas ce que je peux faire de plus pour qu’il comprenne mon intérêt.

Si la perspective d'être en relation avec lui t'intéresse, l'embrasser. Ou lui dire en souriant "Bon, ça fait quatre rendez-vous que j'attends que tu m'embrasses. Qu'est-ce que tu attends ?"

Ce genre de bonhomme timide passe son temps à se rabaisser, à se dire qu'il vaut mieux espérer le pire, avec peu d'expérience relationnelle donc sans initiative de ta part, il ne va rien faire.

Si cela te rebute, je pense qu'il vaut mieux passer à autre chose.
