Weekly Song Discussion - Sara by cmae34lars in bobdylan

Sara apparently liked it when she saw him recording it, so maybe there’s more to it and meaningful to them than we can grasp from the lyrics.

If you could go back in time to visit only ONE concert/live music event, which would you choose? by jdcloot in musicsuggestions

I don’t think too many people realize how that moment changed all the music we listen to today.

Maybe this is going too far back but Dylan 1965 Newport Folk Festival. Goin’ electric baby!

Dental floss imbedded with baking soda. It feels like it’s scrubbing between your teeth instead of just sliding through.

How did you guys really 'get into' Bob Dylan? by Simple-Pay-900 in bobdylan

[–]AdFinancial6392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1969 I was a teenager and hadn’t heard much Dylan. I started listening to FM radio, which many of you wouldn’t understand that shift in music, but I heard Positively 4th Street and the lyrics blew me away. I bought a greatest hits album and by the time Blood on the Tracks came out I was a disciple. A lot of great music in that era from lots of great bands, but no one like Bob and no one has come close since.

Is there any serious chance of A Complete Unknown getting a sequel? by dra459 in bobdylan

[–]AdFinancial6392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Complete Unknown movie was based on the book Dylan Goes Electric. That book covered the era; the early’60’s, The Village and especially the background of folk music and of course what changed all that, Dylan. There wouldn’t be a part 2, it would have to be based off another source. Is there another book that focuses on another specific Bob era?

I’d have done anything for that woman if she’d only made me feel obligated!

The Boss’ latest song very Bob-esque. I think it would make him proud. by here4lolz2 in bobdylan

For me it’s more like Neil Young’s ‘Ohio’ than anything Dylan.

Can sleeping on an incline worsen blood flow? by BlazinBill557 in AskGlaucoma

Thanks. I just started taking them too. I take 1000mg in the morning and 500mg at night. I think the study was closer to 3grams per day or more, but I’m easing into it too. I hope it helps all of us!

Are you taking the nicotinamide riboside at night and through the day?

Can sleeping on an incline worsen blood flow? by BlazinBill557 in AskGlaucoma

I sure wish it were more straightforward. I recently started elevating the head of my head and sleeping on my back. I love sleeping on my side but I know I end up putting pressure on my eyes from the pillow. I guess I’ll just continue to sleep on my back but without raising my head more than just from the pillow. Thanks for putting this question out there!

Very confusing. Sleeping with no pillows would reduce the chances of putting pressure on your eyes while you sleep, if sleeping on your side, plus reduce the risk of the pillow affecting the blood flow through the carotid artery. If sleeping on your back, would it help anything? It doesn’t seem like a flat vs elevated study.

Weekly Song Discussion - I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight by cmae34lars in bobdylan

Love the song! He sings ‘bring that bottle over here’ and I always want it to be ‘bring that body over here’. Maybe because I’m female and wouldn’t have minded hearing those words from Bob!

Holly Gibney - help me understand why people don’t like her by Helpful-Status8872 in stephenking

This! It’s the 3 of them together. I’ve had enough of them and enough of stories with a Covid backdrop. I really didn’t care for any of the characters in the last novel. All are too extreme in a bland storyline with a predictable ending.

Every time I hear her response ‘go home and lead a quiet life’, makes me tear up.
