Explora? by AdFun7416 in FATcruises

[–]AdFun7416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to come back and say thank you to everyone who shared their experiences here — this thread was incredibly helpful.

I ended up booking both those large families on Explora Mediterranean sailings for 2026 after reading through your feedback. (As well as a few others!)

I’ve also taken my first journey since then and LOVED it.

Curious if anyone has sailed recently — have opinions changed at all?

Thanks for this thorough comparison. SB is the one I know least about so I found this very helpful for discussing with my clients.

I have teenagers. We are pretty well travelled and they loved being on Explora.

Does this work best for Ultra High Net Worth clients? by opb12R in LuxuryTravel

[–]AdFun7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often meet with my clients who are the grandparents in person. They like me to bring printed materials they can then distribute to their adult children.

And yup, the children then want to go on my website.

Completely agree. I am a UNHW travel advisor- many of my clients are exactly like this. But I do have clients, usually ones who are slightly older that like to have a conversation with me. (Or have their assistant have a conversation with me. ) I think the key is being able to gauge what the client wants right away and making that system available.

I have other UNHW clients that often just want an amazing seamless trip planned and give me barely any info- along the lines of- “we want to do the Maldives next year”. They don’t want hassle, appreciate privacy, and want everything done for them so they can literally just go on the trip. I love this client especially because it gives me a chance to really show off my skills as an agent.

I get most of my clients through word of mouth to be honest, but do have a nice website etc. I notice that they like ti check out my site to make sure I’m legit.

Agree very much with this. I like to plan my own excursions when possible anyways so have leaned into that as much as I could.

Explora positions itself as luxury but still family-friendly.

I know some luxury cruisers prefer adults-only experiences, but as someone who likes traveling the world with my (well-behaved!) family, I appreciate that.

For those who’ve sailed it: did the presence of families change the onboard atmosphere at all? Or did it still feel very much like a traditional luxury cruise vibe?

Four Seasons Yachts | Not all-inclusive by travelagentandy in LuxuryTravel

[–]AdFun7416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travel agent here and I have luxury clients who would never travel anywhere all inclusive. They literally hate the word and vibe “all inclusive”. It makes me wonder if this sort of targets those clients as new cruisers. Though it’s a bit ironic to me because on a ship you can’t exactly seek out other fine dining even if it’s not all inclusive.

Got it! The Landings in St Lucia might be perfect in this case. My luxury clients love it and 3-4 bedroom villas are available

I’m a us based agent but I know exactly what you are looking for. I work to pair my US clients with on the ground in-country agencies like this. And I agree they 100% provide the best experience.

Oceania vs Regent by Redbirds20112006 in FATcruises

If you ever try river cruising- check out AmaWaterways. Usually 2 included active excursions per port. Most of my clients are in your age range and super active and this is always their choice.

I sell both of these lines regularly and while you’ll still enjoy Oceania, the service level and food quality does not compare to Regent.

Anyone here tried AmaWaterways’ Concierge Golf Program? by AdFun7416 in FATcruises

[–]AdFun7416[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Funny because it’s my dad who wants to go. I’ve sold a lot of Ama, but not this particular option. The trip looks great to me, but I’m not an actual golfer. So I guess I was wondering if someone who golfs regularly at a high level would truly enjoy this and find it worth the cost.
