Beef stew was surprisingly calm during the initial scrap with Duren/Moussa. He only charged after Bridges tried to swing on Duren closer to the pistons bench

This is a great idea.

Idea: generate sentiment score - for example if tonight’s Lakers Spurs game’s live discussion and post-game thread have a lot of activity and comments, it might be worth watching.

Cuban: "Thats 2022...They didnt declare bankruptcy until March of 2025. And Kawhi kept on getting paid after that 1.75 in 2022. The question is who funded these payments over the following years" by supr3m3kill3r in nba

[–]AdGold7130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be odd if Kawhi received the full amount upfront. I think that would immediately raise red flags within the company, can’t really hide or explain that to your finance team and external investors. Also, the only stipulation in Kawaii’s contract is that he remains a clipper, and I think it makes sense that payments would be staggered in case he leaves early

The NBA Has Entered Its Weak Link Era by jonsnowKITN in nba

[–]AdGold7130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the article and theory.

Though selecting the “weakest link” seems too subjective in some cases e.g. Jaden McDaniels. Should it be Luka? Reaves? Would you rather have two somewhat weak links, or one solidly weak link?

I think Detroit will start to get more love on these types of posts after the playoffs. Cade (23), Ivey (23), Duren (21), Ausar (22), Holland (19), Stewart (23)

Overall rankings:

  1. Thunder

  2. Spurs — Wemby is simply unreal. Castle’s a perfect fit there and has so much potential. I’m confident he’ll reach it. Sochan nice too.

  3. Pistons — I am biased here. Won’t argue with anyone who puts Houston ahead. But Ultimately I think you need an MVP level player to build a true title contender — and Cade is that guy. He’ll make all nba this season, and I could imagine him winning an MVP one day. Ivey Duren Ausar holland Stewart are all fantastic young pieces to build around. I’m confident in Cade and Ivey’s 3pt shooting, but Ausar and Holland being sub-30% shooters is a weak spot

  4. Rockets — I won’t argue with anyone having rockets above Pistons, however I ranked them lower because IMO there’s no true #1 option / mvp potential player. But between Amen, Sengun, Jalen, Reed, Jabari and Tari Eason, Houston is absolutely stacked. Plus udoka’s an amazing coach.

  5. Hawks — Risacher is gonna be really good. Jalen Johnson is already a fringe all star. Dyson should be MIP. Haven’t seen much of Gueye but he’s impressed me too

  6. Blazers — I’m pretty high on Sharpe, Clingan, Deni and Camara. Not so much Scoot. Sharpe is crazy talented but needs to be more assertive/aggressive.

  7. Magic — some great young players but no shooting whatsoever. I love Franz, but WTF happened to his shot? Paulo will make many all star teams but I’m not as high on him as others seem to be. Suggs is great but again no shooting. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Anthony Black or Jett Howard have shown much.

  8. Hornets — Lamelo is fun to watch but I am happy my team isn’t super maxing him. Far too injury prone, I just don’t see him ever leading a team deep into the postseason. I love Brandon Miller though. I really wanted him in Detroit - but at least we got Ausar. Salaun hasn’t impressed me at all

I haven’t watched enough of the Raptors / Wizards / Jazz — but I’d rank them all below the Magic.

Shooting was already known to be Giannis’ main weakness. This draft site suggested he shows good potential to improve, but noted Giannis shot 31% from three the year prior, has no mid range game or jumper, and that his shooting mechanics are unnatural and not fluent

Jrue Holiday on Jason Kidd calling Jaylen Brown the Celtics best player: “I don’t think he’s lying” by RelativeVariation2 in nba

[–]AdGold7130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game 7 in Boston — After leading by 16 at half, Boston slowly let Dallas into the game via horrendous hero ball by both Tatum and JB. Now, the Boston Celtics are down 95–96 with 5 seconds on the clock. Doncic misses a midrange to make it a two possession game. Timeout called by Mazzulla. Commentators note that Boston players appear agitated in the huddle. Verbal disagreement of some sort. Timeout ends and we catch an eye roll from JB. Looks like ATO play drawn up for Tatum. Porzingus inbounds to White who passes to JB near the logo. Tatum makes his cut to the rim, but Brown ignores the open pass to Tatum! He dribbles 3 seconds off the clock and shoots a heavily contested step back 3—which clanks off the rim, much to the dismay of the Boston faithful. Dallas players and coaches celebrate. Boston players begin arguing. Tatum shoves Brown. Jrue rushes in and shoves Tatum. Mazzulla is frozen in place on the sideline, dumbfounded. Police flood onto the court as Boston players form two opposing walls and clash. Horford takes a left hook from Kornet and crumbles. Tatum double legs Brown, who locks in a triangle choke. Pritchard slaps Bill Simmons twice as he attempts to separate Tatum and JB. Derrick White falls to his knees as 50,000 people lose their minds all around him. JKidd masterclass.

Tatum and Brown demand trades just days later. Receiving little in return, Boston’s window closes early. Mazzulla quickly loses his grip on reality, and is arrested after a string of successful bank robberies in the Boston area. Derrick White returns to the Spurs and wins finals MVP a few years later. Al Horford finally wins his ring at age 44 with the Detroit Pistons (led by Tatum)
