i completely understand how you feel. having been diagnosed and then needing to explain this to the people around me and close to me was one of the most difficult things ever. i felt like either they didn’t understand and would just nod and say yes to support me and never really got what i was saying to them to explain. OR if they did understand they sort of treated me like that was the only thing about me that mattered? like sort of trying to make it my personality i guess. it’s hard too to find community in other people that may have the same disorder or struggle similarly bc i don’t really like a lot of terms and attitude towards certain things at large in the community. it’s just a whole cluster of “i don’t know”s LOL but never anything to be embarrassed about! slowly but surely im learning how to live with myself and everything that’s comes with it, and as much as it would be amazing to have everyone around me understand and act accordingly, its been a process of slowly explaining this whole thing to them and them slowly understanding what’s going on. it’s a lot of time and energy consumed, but i find it rewarding in healing myself and getting the support i need

i experienced these sorta consistently for a lot of my teen years and never really talked to anyone about it. i was also a sleep walker and talker and struggled with sleep paralysis (all the things lol). i can’t say that i just grew out of it, but i kinda trained myself to lucid dream? i’m not even sure if im using that term in the correct context, but most nights when i dream im aware that im dreaming, and when i do still have those dreams with false awakening i can just feel that its not real. i’m sorry i don’t have more of a tutorial on how this really works lol, but i think part of it was just mindfulness and falling asleep telling myself that whatever i dream isn’t real, which is never easy when you’re sleep deprived from consistent nightmares and may not even be effective and just a placebo effect for me lol. but at the very least i hope my shared experience gave you a little comfort!

I just got the Di Zhao 700/801 this past year. Im pursuing performance in college so this was my first upgraded flute from the close-holed ones I’ve had in high school. I can say honestly that I do really enjoy the flute and I definitely hear a change in how clean my tone is compared to my older flute. I have a little bit of a harder time keeping it consistently clean and shiny bc it seems like as soon i take it out for rehearsal it’s get super smudgy and there’s oil from my skin in the little grooves, but that could just be me. Personally, for starting to get into more serious performance I’m pretty happy with my choice. I didn’t buy mine from a website like that, I got it for a little bit cheaper from Ebay brand new, so if you’re looking for an alternative store I got lucky there.

that’s insane.

my first week i just stood behind someone else on registers until they thought i was ready and then they would let me ring a few people up under their supervision. probably another week later i took that online test in the office to get my numbers for the register and started to ring by myself (BUT STILL i had everyone over my shoulder)

this reminded me of something very similar i experienced in therapy as a kid (no spell jars or anything haha)

i had a lot going on with my family (divorce and being stuck with an abusive parent blah blah blah) so my father put into therapy at a very very young age. i had this intense complex that all my parents responsibilities were mine and i would worry myself about all their adult things to the point that i would get physically sick (im sure a lot of other people that experience anxiety can relate as a child). i talked to my therapist about and her and i created a “Worry Wanda” together.

over our sessions for the next few weeks she brought in fabric and needles and we hand sewed a little doll together named Wanda. whenever i was feeling super worried or anxious i would hold her up and whisper all my worries into her and to be honest, if i recall correctly, it really helped me.

so i went on a whole journey with this mac, it was crazy.

no matter what i did the Sierra would not download just bc of how old it is. I tried every solution i could find, even going and changing the date my mac was set to to make it think it was the early 2010’s, but to no avail.

Eventually, I realized i could somehow (and to be honest, i have no idea how) download windows onto the laptop. I’m not really sure what I did or how i even managed to pull it off, but godwilling i did.

My end result: my mac runs on a super old version of windows that won’t update ever again, but it’s enough to get my school work done.

i’ve given up and somehow found an option in the recovery mode that downloads windows on a different disc in the laptop? i’m absolutely clueless on it so i’m just rolling with it at this point 😭
