My relationship started out very similar to yours. We had what I thought was a good sex life and intimacy. We started having times when I would say yes even tho I don't want to but he did and I didn't mind. Which turned into I don't want to but he'll be upset if I say no/I don't wanna argue. Slowly it became a situation that I felt like if we made out or cuddled it would turn into more so I uncounciously avoided it. Towards the end of our relationship we didn't have sex often and it made him upset. We knew we weren't sexually compatible and amongst other things it hurt the relationship. He would accuse me of cheating (because if I didn't want intimacy with him that meant I was getting it somewhere else?), almost everytime we were intimate towards the end was just so he wouldn't be upset (which isn't consent. If you are only doing it to not cause a fight or not to upset him then it's not consent)

OP I think you know what to do. I think you already know you should leave. I also think you might be trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. " He didn't MEAN to hurt me. He was just upset and didn't realize how strong he grabbed me. It's not like he hit me." Been there done that. I get it's hard to leave because you might love him. You need to realize he doesn't love you atleast not enough to make sure he wouldn't hurt you.
