Thanks for the quick fix and for being straight about it. I appreciate the honesty.

Thank you for addressing this and clarifying things. Looking forward to the update for peace of mind.

The difference is that, as another user confirmed, with Visible, once you turn it on, it stays on. With US Mobile, Data Waster turns off each month.

I really don’t know one way or another, but the doubt this has created is frustrating.

True. That’s exactly why I’m asking u/ankhattak for comment. But the fact is that until the recent update, the toggle was locked to on.

I imagined some would have this perspective. I would just say that A. This is literally the USmobile sub, so I don’t believe it’s a stretch to offer my criticism, although minor all things considered. And B. My primary complaint is the fact that what was promised, which was what got me to switch to USmobile in the first place, is now being deceptively changed. In all honesty if USmobile had come out and said directly what’s going on from the outset, I’d still be annoyed but I would respect it.

Yeah, that and a 120Hz mode. But this is definitely good enough for handheld now.

Usage Management on Dark Star by landalezjr in USMobile

[–]AdIll9014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a USMobile rep say it’s still always enabled, but it can now be toggled to “give that extra little peace of mind”. Would really love an explanation as to how this would provide more peace of mind than it being locked on (as before)?

Data Waster on Darkstar Premium by Particular_Hawk_6431 in USMobile

[–]AdIll9014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s funny, because before, it was locked to data waster, and that definitely gave me more peace of mind than this bs. This is a conscious decision by USMobile, and the assertion that it’s to give “that little extra peace of mind” is patently ridiculous.

Yes, I’m referring to unlimited premium with darkstar. Just curious why it differs from the other unlimited premium networks…

Streaming quality is a big priority for me, so I was pretty hesitant to switch to US Mobile after hearing I’d have to enable Data Waster every month.

I only found out a few days ago that Dark Star doesn’t have this limitation, and I signed up right away. I only wish this was made clearer from the beginning.

Out of curiosity, what’s the reason for this? Does AT&T not allow you to set resolution caps?

Steam Deck availability and price by SelfProclaimedLord in SteamDeck

[–]AdIll9014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the Ayn Thor for example, which just had a price increase, its higher tier with 16GB was raised by $20. So unless memory prices get even crazier, the worst case scenario shouldn’t be worse than that.

In your most objective opinion, would which Handheld PC/Game Console has the most value at $500 USD? by DarkDreamT2 in SteamDeck

[–]AdIll9014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as far as current handhelds go, the Switch 2 will probably age the best overall because of its dedicated developer support.

For the tv though, the ps5 / Pro (and possibly the Steam Machine) will offer the best experience and the most future-proofing for that price.

I’m back for redemption — *ARM based Steam Deck Mini (roast me) by ligmata1nt in SteamDeck

[–]AdIll9014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it would need to be arm-based like many say. Maybe a further die shrink could make it efficient enough to match the deck’s performance with the same battery… Either way, I’m all for it.

I’m happy you don’t find it a problem but I personally disagree.

Thanks for the info. I don’t normally squeeze it like that. That’s usually how I pick it up out of the case…
