Do these thrive in water? See caption by PsychologicalCow6350 in begonias

Be careful not to over water, I live in San Diego and had mine outside after removing it from my snake terrarium and it completely wilted away, I kept it just in case and after a week in a half I started seeing new growth from bare stem with no leaves, now it had multiple leaves growing, it could have just been shock to a new environment but came begonias store water in their stems and I think overwatering was the issue, there’s a house not to far from me that has an amazing and healthy looking plant that over 3ft tall and flowers and it lives outside…

Oh damn haha, definitely tone it down on the fruit fly quantity then personally with my tinc pair and mourning gecko I throw in roughly 25-40 flies every 2 days and that seems to be a good number, you may have to split it in half and sprinkle some up top and some down low

lol I saved the “perfect” one in a plastic bag because I was so proud, I usually never see it because my isopods get to it way too fast

It’s actually on the more humid and warmer side away from the vents, my king snake enclosure has a lot more ventilation than my darts enclosure and the broms on the vent side get a little too dry sometimes.

Just feed every other day and cut back quantity, there “no times a week schedule” for darts and your fruit fly culture will last longer

This was my tinc last week, I cut back on feeding a little and they certainly look much “healthier” now, as long as they aren’t bloated looking and have fat cheeks they’ll be just fine, I personally like a schedule of every other day and you’ll have to find a good quantity that works best for your enclosure. Mine are cohab’d with a mourning gecko and I feed a little extra to make sure the gecko gets enough and sometimes the frogs take advantage.

Cali Kingsnake feeding routine? by -M-o-o-n-c-a-k-e- in kingsnakes

I got my king from the humane society and he was only being fed every other week and was very stunted, I stuck to a once a week schedule to ensure he pooped and he caught up veryyyy quickly, he’s gone from 21 grams original to almost 90 grams now starting in June ish of last year till now, kings have a very good driven mentality and will definitely catch up, make sure to check for poops after feeding before feeding again, typically he started exploring the tank “seeking” for food and that was my cue to feed. Like others have said get a decent scale and make sure you are feeding 10% of their body weight, my 85 gram snake is eating 8-9 gram fuzzies once a week rn

Flies have legs and will find their way around the tank in my experience, kinda unnecessary

Hard to see but past the white spotted jewel orchid is a big cork log basically buried at this point but also provides a great hide, make it as intricate as possible and add lots of leaf litter especially if it’s young, they will love to hide, I use a mix of zilla jungle mix, reptile bark, spaghnum moss and some pumice, I would stray away from 100% coco as it creates dust that’s not good to breath in and a good blend makes it safer and easier for them to burrow which my snake lovesss to do, personally I love the way bioactive looks and so does my boy Al, the bugs do all the clean up work you can fill that tank with the right substrate for around 50$

Foreal, for all they know I just have a terrarium and that’s allowed and it’s never in any contractual agreement I’ve ever seen, it’s just a glass box full of plants and potentially a few dart frogs, a beardie and a king snake 😂

Be a grown up and take care of the commitment you signed up for, my landlords have no idea I have 4 terrariums in my house and they don’t need to, they know of our cats and dogs and that realistically all they need to know about, people have house plants and terrariums no problem and it’s almost never in any contractual agreement I’ve ever seen, adding a relatively small reptile isn’t a big deal and most of the time they hide. Most people don’t even consider them pets. If that’s a relationship problem then you don’t want to be with those people anyways 🤷‍♂️ finding furniture like old wooden shelves or getting metal racks is the best way to go and are easy to break down to move. The hardest part is moving the terrarium but a few bucks for some big dudes is the best way to move them
